I loved episode 3. I can see it pissing some people off due to lack of story progression. But god damn that was such good TV.

3rd episode was crap imo, I'm amazed the writers decided to dedicate an entire episode on the worst subplot from the first two episodes (which were fantastic!).

completely agree, I didn't mind it but it was unnecessary and at the wrong time, took out any steam the show had and like you say, by far the most boring subplot they had introduced, nobody cares about that. It came off as them padding the season because they haven't got enough material.

Was fine as a standalone ep but yeah happened at the wrong time.

Idgaf about some old guy who couldn't handle his coke in the 70's especially when we know his death was just a mix up.

That 'I can help' bot was a lad though, pretty sure it's the closest thing I've ever seen to MT.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about that...

They never showed us his death. Maurice never directly said he killed him. Also his was killed via asphyxiation, it looked like his mouth was superglued shut.

There's more to his death. We are gonna see exactly what happened down the line.

I guess, but still could've done without that episode as the 3rd one when we're barely getting to grips with the other main players.

Whether it's The Leftovers or this show, Carrie Coon's got an Emmy or Golden Globe nom coming her way sooner rather than alter. She's done so well in both of these roles so far.

And yes, I also didn't know that was freaking Lorne Malvo narrating. FFS Mad

I'm enjoying it but I agree with what seems to be the majority opinion, weakest season BY FAR

the 'villains' are kinda cool but come off as caricature's, far too OTT this season

dat cameo at the end though, some shit is about to go down

Yeah still enjoying it, think Varga will go down as a fargo GOAT but overall I am less interested in the characters than in the other seasons

Thinking back to S2 I was interested in most of the characters that had any sort of screen time. Think the cops with the exception of the lead are too jobber-y and Vargas henchmen are let downs imo.

yeah I just don't care about anyone really, S2 you were interested in every character's story but in this the characters are just pretty bland, Varga is a lad to me but also seen a lot of divided opinions on him online.

Well he ticks all the boxes for a great character to me.

Eloquent

Messed up

Clearly just all round bad for everybody in his vicinity, etc etc.

It's the rest that are underwhelming. Mcgregors acting on point as always but only just now is the rich Stussy getting interesting, the other Stussy well.. doesn't matter now.

S2 almost every Gerhardt & associate had something really interesting going on, as well as the others like Mike and the cops too.

S1 obviously was dominated by Malvo.

I just feel myself dipping in and out of concentration until Varga comes into a scene. Like I said the lack of henchmen that aren't shit hurts. I mean the Russian lad is starting to improve but I can't take him seriously with his adidas trackies, gilet jacket and shit haircut. Literally rocked the same outfit as him 99% as a teenager on my way to football, only my hair was better.

The cops are too dumb for me, apart from the lead. And the poor stussy I thought was gonna be a wild card but he was just a bumbling jobber until the end. His girlfriend is a good character again, but I feel she's not interesting enough on her own. Best thing about her (Apart from looking like my ideal girlfriend) was her egging ray(?, lost on first names because of the plot) on.

Worst season by far. Still good tho, better than True Detective season 2 for instance. Hope Mr. Wrench makes this season better but honestly I don't have high hopes now.

By this point in last 2 seasons I was really invested in what was gonna happen for most characters

By comparison, all I want to see in this one is Varga win and the cops take an L Laughing

Dem feels when we're relying on a deaf guy to rescue the season 7 episodes in.

Maybe Noah Hawley spent all his energy and creativity on Legion. You seen that yet @Firenze @Tomwin Lannister

Weird because I have been thinking that structurally, technically and tonally this is a contender to actually be the best season of the show, just depending on how it ends.

But reading through some of the complaints you guys brought up, I agree that I'm just not that hooked and invested in some of the characters this season, as compared to previous seasons. I thought it might have just been me not focusing that much on the show, exams going on atm, and life, etc. But yeah seems to be a wider problem for fans out there. Mind you this whole time I've been thinking critics and fans have been loving this season so far.

I liked the ep but something felt off about it tbh, it's not much worse than Season 1, which was basically carried by Malvo's on screen presence

Show really picked up but so many questions ffs

Did Yuri get killed by some Godly figure in that bowling alley?

Was Varga right at the end? God I hope so Laughing GOAT character. Would love him to appear in s4 if there is one.
