He's just trying to change his childhood image from teen hearthrob instead a more "bad boy" image. As long as he doesn't beat his girlfriend like Chris Brown did and eventually lose his mind due to the ensuing backlash he'll be fine.
But yeah, he's surrounded by too many yes men.
