Kovacic wants more goals

Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic has made scoring more goals for the Nerazzurri one of his top priorities for the club’s upcoming matches.

The 19-year-old, now in his second season with Inter, is considered to be a special talent and his admirers are only increasing due to his performances at club and country.

Having joined from Dinamo Zagreb at a relatively young age of 18, the Serb thinks it is much more difficult to score in Italy than other countries.

“The Serie A ? The league is tactically more strong, and here it is more difficult to score goals. Spain and England are definitely different,” he told Inter Channel.

Despite all the hype and furore Kovacic concedes that he still needs to improve under coach Walter Mazzarri, while also stating he needs to score more goals.

“Under coach Walter Mazzarri I work a lot in defence, but I also want to get more shots on target and score goals,” he continued.

“Last match I tried for goal a few times and the coach encouraged me to do so when I’m in that area though I haven’t yet scored.”

“Is this weighing on me? Yes, a bit,” he concluded.

Inter rejected three big offers for Kovacic

Despite recent rumors that he can possibly leave Inter, word is that the Nerazzurri continue to resist selling Mateo Kovacic. According to Sport Mediaset, Inter have rejected three offers so far for the young Croatian from clubs like Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk and Galatasary. These offers are believed to be around 25 million euros.

Kovacic not for sale, will be the future of Inter

No one is safe at Inter? Not really, there is one: Mateo Kovacic. Erick Thohir, according to Tuttosport, has decided to take the Croatian off the transfer market and Walter Mazzarri has one mission: to play Kovacic so that he can show his qualities even more consistently. Kovacic will turn 20 in May and he has the confidence of everyone, including the coach who was mostly responsible for the growth of Hamsik at Napoli.

It's not about Zanetti FFS.

It's tactical decisions by Mazzari who is afraid to put a slightly less defensively oriented player in central midfield.If it's not Zaneti it's Taider or Mudingayi...Stankovic or Muntari...Kharja or someone else.

No matter who leaves there's alway that midfielder who is slightly better tactically and defensively that ostracizes a young,talented player.

How many times have we seen it?These kids need consistent playtime.

Alvarez used to play every 3rd game,gets subbed in with 10 minutes left when we are 2 goals down and he sucks when expecting miracles from him.As soon as he got consistent playtime he thrived.

Icardi started scoring game after game after he was in the first 11.Unfortunately he started just 10 games because he spent the season on the bench.

Kovacic gets a couple games in a row and starts doing what we all knew he could.

Unfortunately Coutinho never got his starting berth,got sold and is now winning titles elsewhere.We used to bench him for Kharja to play trequartista.Houssine freaking Kharja...

Same with Obi,Poli,Mariga,Castaignos,Longo and even Zarate...Because we prefed to start Stankovic,Muntari,Palombo,Forlan....
