Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista

Dat hattrick of assists today

The first two though   Kid is amazing, appreciation thread is long overdue.

tbh mate Kovacic is a midfielder , not  a trequartista. ("il nuovo trequartista", not "la nuova trequartista", forgive my correction )
I had the final confirmation this year.
It was his best match since he's to Inter by far today , 2 assists and he was unplayable for the whole match, he led his team to the victory. Symbolic as this performance of most talented young player  is  happened just in day of last match played by Captain for 20 years. I hope it is augural for the future , as a handover.

Haven't heard much about him this season..

He's young so still finding his feet but he'll be one of the best of his generation, lovely to watch when on form.

just Mazzarri could bench him in this Inter
5th match in a row for him , he is having continuity of matches and his role ( first part of the season : Mazzarri made him playing "hiccup" and he put him behind the CF,but he's a midfielder ) . The young players need need of trust and also to make mistakes, then the results will come as  result.
of course his talent is not still fully expressed considering he is just 94 but he has really amazing skills.
I saw in old Inter threads there was a Croatian Interista to write in past (CroInter), it 's a pity he doesn't win anymore

Only reason McAgger is interested in him is because he is being linked with Liverpool

Not true

Our interest in him is only recent. Go to other Kovacic threads and you can see that the second he signed for Inter I was singing his praises.

Anyway I don't understand why some think we will sell easily or it can be a Coutinho-esque  deal  ( I am no talking about this forum , I specify , but just looking at foreign club forums )

Branca has been sacked by Thohir also for this reason ,because he sold young players easily and this is not accepted by new presidential course

Besides Kovacic is a starter to Inter now,our star to midfielder ( thanks Thohir, the man who istigated Mazzarri to put Icardi and Kovacic as starters ) while Coutinho was rated at that time just as a reserve, a backup for Europe League group

I thought reports were that he was planning on staying at Inter for a while anyway?

Not sure who has more potential between Coutinho and Kovacic, but I would love to have them both at Liverpool if he was moving away -- kid is pure class.

Mateo was brilliant, and it was against a relatively decent Lazio side, with European football on the line -- if that doesn't show his potential to be a clutch player for the team, I don't know what will ... building the midfield around him and Hernanes should be a no-brainer for next season ...

Ah, I 've never rated Kovacic as trequartista, for me he is mezz ala.. I still think it.. but he is playing as trequartista under Mancini now , and scored other 2 goals in that position ( now 4 in league)

And while we are on the subject trequartista is not the same as regista and volante.

TQ: AM with less defensive duties
Regista: deep lying playmaker
Volante: any midfielder

Isn't volante more of a brazilian term?
