Had great seasons at a lower league
Came to Real Madrid and disappointed for a season and two thirds
Enjoyed one third of a good season

And you think he should be living off his time at Lyon?
Diego forlan sucked this season, does it mean he is a bad player?
Also benzema is proven in CL and shows up in big games generally

U cant really compare the scenarios of Forlan and Benzema.Forlan is coming to the end of his career whereas Benzema is yet to peak and relatively unproven for Madrid. Its like comparing Pirlo and Gourcuff.

here is my list of those who are equal or better than the benz in random order. if u dont see for example "torres" on this list, means "torres" is inferior to benzema.
-----------------------------------------------------
Higuain (inferior in cl territory however)
Hulk
Falcao
Tevez (though hes a nutjob)
Robin Van Persie
Eto'o
Messi
Aguero (questionable)
Cavani
Rooney
Gomez
-----------------------------------------------------
only four are better than benz from the list above.

I wud have liked to add Drogba but... right now im not sure about him anymore...

Messi Eto'o Van Persie Tevez Rooney thats 5 players who are unquestionably far better than Benzema on that list.ANd most would agree Aguero is better too.Not sure who are the ONLY FOUR that are better than Benzema.

lol i actually miscounted... u got some correct. the ones that are better than benz are : Messi, eto'o, RVP, Gomez, Rooney.

There is no way in this world Benzema is better than Tevez.Tevez may be a moaning b1tch but he is one of the best strikers in Europe ATM and is far better than Benzema.

Sooo.... Reading through these responses, it's quite clear Benzema deserves the title of most overrated player on this forum.

Love the kid and would love to see him succeed in Madrid, but some of you are just :lol!: -worthy

i always lol @ the hate benz get for his 1 and 1/2 bad seasons, almost everyone forgot how highly rated he was before his transfer, even now some still say he has poor work rate when that is clearly a lie now

everyone still underrates his finishing for some reason tho, the kid is r9 heir

Benz is in great form but he's still got lenghts to go in termsof fullfilling his tallent.

This guy just needs more selfconfidence and aggression.

I've seen him demonstrate these characteristics but to a modest level.

I'm talking about putting up a celebration like Cantona used to after a goal. To boast, show pride and hunger. Pump that fist

He was absolute ass for a year and a half. No amount of great play will change that.

To be fair, they both arrived at the club with different levels of expectation on them.

He has the potential to be pretty dang good, like, one of the best strikers in the world good. But the key word there is potential. He looks like it sometimes and sometimes not so much.

But he's pretty good, I guess Thumbs up

true but that doesn't mean either one is an exception from adapting issues etc..., all was needed was some patience and trust, if it wasn't for Valdano benz would have been sold already bounce

Yeah I hope so.

You can see lots of people doubt him right now, but I'll tell you what will happen. Goal after goal, when his statistics rack up to those critics' noses - one by one will start to acknowledge him - and we'll say

i think it was on higz debut and he missed an easy chance, raul was commentating and call him sh*t off the mic, and higz first 2 season individually wasn't awesome either, higz broke out in his 3rd season

lol a commentator named Raul
you heard sid lowe wrong....
the commentator for LaSexta
but the Bernabeu still loved Higuain... everyone, despite him missing chances that season called him one of the best players for Madrid and he saved us 5 points with his 2 goals, which for an 19 year old from a different league aint too bad
i dont know what you expected at the time but i always thot Higuain was outstanding all the time
his development hasnt been meteoric but we are definitely seeing the rewards of giving him time

I will go so far as to say that Benzema is so good that Lyon losing him to Real Madrid mirrors their decline as a European superpower club of the 21st century, to the extent where they can't place higher in a group than a thoroughly rubbish Ajax side.
