Absolutely ludicrous save, this. Still an unbelievable player and it's a shame we'll have to say goodbye at season's end.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
What a *bleep* beast
Yea, he's our best goalkeeper ever and a true legend, the day when he'll leave it's going to be a sad day. Still, emotions aside, it's the best choice for him because he's still in his prime and one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
How did he save that
I've always maintained he is our best GK, Courtois isn't as good.
Courtois just has the mantle of being the best YOUNG GK around.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
He's been very good as of late, possibly due to the competition between him and Courtois who has been giving shaky performances recently.
Would be good if they can give him a raise and make him stay as he's one of the best GK in the world if not the best, better than Neuer atm. There will be no replacement to fill his big shoes. Courtois is project in progress, a future prospect but the services of cech are still needed. He still has 3 to 5 years of top football to give.
He will be missed.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
Cech can do one. As can all of his sycophants banging on about how he's earnt the right to do basically anything he'd like with unconditional, blind support from us poor saps and using his "loyalty" as the justification for it. Loyalty how? Showing up everyday, acting like a professional, playing at or near the highest level he's capable of? Also known as.....doing his job? A job he was maid mightily handsomely for, might I add. And one that's brought him untold glory and fame in the process. I don't begrudge him a move close to home for his sake and his family's if he wishes to keep them in the city, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna be made to lick his arse over it and celebrate the move like some clap-happy lemming.

This time last year we were signing Fàbregas and Costa en route to a championship victory, now we're gifting, conservatively, 10 points to a potential title rival. Staggering.

This exactly.
What an absolute shit off-season so far. Cech leaving Drogba being replaced by someone even worse, Remy looking like he might leave, and being linked with shitty squad player like Alex Song and Dembele(lol).

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
He's been 11 years at the club, it's only the decent thing to do to let him join what ever club he wants since he's no longer needed at Chelsea.

Allow him to, yes. But don't guilt-trip the fans into jerking themselves off over it. Celebrate a world class player of ours being gift-wrapped and delivered via silver platter to a title contender and historical local rival? Like hell.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
It's not ideal, but on the other hand it's not unimaginable that there are Chelsea fans who are happy for Cech that it's working out nicely for him, because if there are players who deserve that, it's him.
Also, he's 33 and has just spent a season without playing much. There's every chance he won't be as great any longer as people expect.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
He's still damn good. A level higher than Courtois is at the moment.
Arsenal are lucky and they ve probably saved themselves some 10 to 15 points.
The gap is closing in on the top.
Chelsea has done nothing to improve so far.
It's not looking good when all the contenders are improving whilst Mourinho's Chelsea is not.
It's going to be another mediocre season if something is not done soon.

Re: The Petr Cech Thread
Cech was just warming the bench anyway. He's still got it so there's no reason to grow old being behind Thiboo in the pecking order. Those sending death threats are simply underdeveloped shitbags.
