It's so posts at the end of a page don't get lost so easily.

For old men like RG, this is important as he often forgets things.

Can a mod clarify about this new feature ?

I thought you get notified if a user quotes your post or mentions your username in his/her post.Maybe i'm wrong.

Notice how the @(your username) appears when someone quotes your post.

I am not sure, this wasn't discussed (at least, to me) So it might just be RG playing around with things.

I suppose he can clue everyone in on it.

it only makes sense if you receive two different notifications for a simple reply for the corresponding thread and for a quoted post. It would be brilliant to have auto refresh feature or notification like on the sidescreen, but I am also feared that it will lead to trolling more n more
