He's decent.

I personally like him but unfortunately he never had any hype surrounding him. Reminds me of Soldado. However his time in England could make him a more complete player.

I'm sure the club is keeping tabs on him in case he explodes.

He's also done quite well with Spain's youth teams.

Juan Fran was good then, I find it hard to see whos playing when there is no name on the shirt. Only one I recognise is Morata haha.

He was very fast but his crossing was inaccurate at times, but he provided a excellent chance for Morata which he should have scored.

The game was fun. Our defending was painful to watch, mostly because Toril is sticking with a 442, with Alex and Omar in the middle. Omar was staying deep while Alex was going up, but Omar isnt a DM, so he cant protect the back.

As a result, the back line was easily exposed. Nacho-Ivan didnt look like the most secure CB pair, both made erratic challenges that earned them yellow cards.

It's too bad we dont seem to be emphasizing on developing playmaking CM/AM the way the new spanish wave is moving. We will be lucky to see Madridistas in that area of the midfield with Spain.

Not a fan of a 442 of course, game was fun. Juanfran really was good, and Morata needed to score at least one of those chances he had. first game, so things will get better.

@Babun, Morata is our Godmez, but he needs to put on muscles, and clean up the finishing. He has the speed and technique already. he was played as an SS and he did a fairly good job.

Shout out to Joselu as well, looks very confident, and scored a great goal.

Also big shout out to Jesus with a great penalty stop early on in the game

Pretty much secured us the 3 points, so good work from the big man

Interested to see how Omar does over the course of the season.

If he merges well with Alex in midfield it could make castilla's play very fun to watch.

Toril's 442 is very open, it leaves spaces at the back but it lets the boys express themselves going forward which at youth level is important.

Glad we got the three points and hopefully we start strong this year. (This what cost us promotion last year)

We looked good. As with a lot of youth teams, the final ball is often clumsy and finishing is not efficient. As Nick said, we also lack a creative midfielder... of course, it's hard to replace Sarabia.

What i don't like is the 4-4-2. We need to run the same system throughout the club. If Mou is alternating between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3 at the big club, Castilla needs to do the same. I don't understand why it is not.

A 442 isn't that different from a 4-2-3-1 TBF. Especially if one of the two drops deep to help the midfield.

What I think is more important is that the style of pressing we've adopted is promoted at youth level. That would be nice to see IMO.

We really should be running the exact same system Z because there are enough differences that it makes the transition to the big club even tougher for youth. You don't want them to think about positioning adjustments... just go out there and play.

The defensive pressing should also be adopted, i agree.

I guess that we are adopting the best style to win and get us into Segunda with the given squad. That's the only reason i can see.

explains why our castilla is inferior to Barca's La masia

We gets only players from madrid while barca can accommodate players from all over the world with la masia facilities.

Joselu didnt score, Omar and Denis did.

I hear Omar was awesome in the midfield, scored from outside the box.
