Finished the 10th episode and I realized that I'm too far into it now and I have to finish this till the end tonight.

I mean there is a point either in a movie or in a series or in a book where you get to it and you sit down and you say..."OK I have to finish this now in one sitting".

Looking forward to doing so tonight. Off to watch episode 11, then watch 28 days later with my brother, and then finish the series.

I can't wait till the second season...this series is unbelievably good. Although perhaps that is the immature view of someone who doesn't normally watch shows...but wow. Just wow.

I love Kevin Spacey.

Trust me CB, you are completely right when you say this show is unbelievably good. I've seen a lot of shows and this dwarfs most of the other shows in comparison.

Anybody know when the second season comes out?

ive been meaning to watch this and its been sitting in my netflix queue since i first heard of it, as it really seems like a great show but I just havent got around to it, definitely on my to-watch list

Vibe Seriously praise to Moal because this show is out of this world.

It wasn't really much of a "find" tbh. As it was advertised on all the bloody bus stops in the area i work,its a Netflix original show and i watch Netflix like everyday so it was pretty hard not to know about it from my stance.

Glad to hear everyone pretty much loves it though lol.

Am I the only one not in love with this show? I watched maybe 8 episodes and got tired of it. I find the characters quite 2 dimensional. Kevin Spacey in particular just wants power just for the sake of power, not to do anything with it.

I can't sum it up any better than by saying it's incredibly good to watch. The one aspect of the show I enjoy the most is the monologue between us and Underwood. Kevin Spacey does a superb job at pulling it off, along with every other aspect of his complex character.
The quality of writing, directing, and storytelling is as good as you'll ever see.

Finally watched the first episode and this show has a lot of promise. Kevin Spacey was a spot on casting for this role.

Really liking this thus far, but I'll hold overall judgement until mid-season.

House of Cards

Received 9 Emmy nominations including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Drama.

Well deserved IMO. I can't say much about how it compares to Downton Abbey, Homeland, Game of Thrones and the like, but I can say after watching a lot of Breaking Bad (more to go yet though!) that it certainly holds up to the likes of Breaking Bad. I don't expect it to win but it's a great achievement and I expect it to push Netflix to bigger and better things in terms of creating its own series and it puts Netflix on the map of Emmy's now.
