I can only imagine the stress for both sides.

So from what I gather, Peru have won the competition twice.

Once in the thirties and another in the seventies.

Closest they got if I remember correct was in 2019.

They face the winners between Brasil and Chile.

Brasil likely will be the opponent.

Im all in to support Peru for the tournament now.

You know, we also thought the Lapadula case was over with. I think it was 2016 when he moved to Milan? We wanted him in the team but he ended choosing Italy, but he never played an official match I believe.

His name came around again in the summer and I didn't think it was serious until he actually played in the qualifiers Laughing

But he has been great and doesn't look misplaced or uncomfortable at all. The players love him and most importantly the fans love him (important because peru fans can be very prejudiced against players not born in Peru). I'll also add that Peru comedy shows similar to Saturday night live already have a bunch of hilarious segments on Lapadula, making him a stereotypical Italian trying to learn our culture Laughing

Regardless, outstanding player. He got his 2nd MOTM today

You all really impressed by Brazil? They have Fred starting, that should tell you all. Danilo also at RB. Also upfront Firmino had a terrible season and Jesus is not good enough either. Defence looks solid, Casemiro and Neymar are world class, rest are average. Paqueta and Gabigol should step up and solidify starting spots. I hope in one and a half year they'll get even better and players like Guimaraes, Raphinha, Rodrygo develop more and becomes part of the squad.

For me at least I don't see how the other competing teams can actually take it to Brazil right now. Personally I think Uruguay has the best chance to crack their solidity at their back if we are talking on pure skillset but Suarez and Cavani are having trouble finding the back of the net so far. Argentina well... I like em no doubt, but they need to find a way to make their attack be even more effective. So it's not that I find Brazil impressive at the attack but they have the defense to soak up pressure from any team in SA atm.

He isn't bad at all he just didn't convert when it counted there tho. Argentina and Colombia game gonna be the main plate next fixture. Peru need a miracle to go through as things stand right now.
