Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Don't get me wrong it's still a failure and someone has to bite the bullet but you can't dress this up as a big failure of a super club because quite frankly it isn't.
City will just hire new people and try again.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
I wasn't just talking about local fans, though. Plus I doubt your average City fan would be reasonable enough to not want to win everything, considering they were fighting for multiple honors and the team they have.Zealous wrote:Sushi Master wrote:They are trying to become a club of that stature.
My point still stands.
If you want to become one of the big boys, you just don't dress up like one and that's it. You have to prove it in the field.
Your point falls apart when you see the fans in the stands though.
Ask many of them who have been with the team from the start and they will tell you that overall they are happy just to be competing for the title. Although losing to United sucks.
City have failed to win a trophy yes but looking at the big picture they have still come a long way and the foundations have been built so that they will win trophies in the future.
As for your Madrid comparison I don't think it holds water, Madrid have spent many years on the path of excellence winning has become an expectation. City are not at that stage yet and won't be till they have consistent success.
I was mostly on the expectations everyone has, not just City fans had of their team. Starting off the season like they were the second coming, able to beat Barca, should breeze through the PL etc.
It wasn't a Madrid comparison. I could easily replace Madrid with Bayern, Milan or Barcelona if you want. My point was that City want to become a world class club, and they have spent hundreds of millions over a few years: they should have seen returns by now. Málaga with a much more reasonable budget are in CL spots with a very thin squad.
The Madrid thing was because Sepukku writes off that huge investment and 2nd place being as "good enough", when it clearly ain't.

Well yeah it's not good enough. But a lot of the assets City have bought as still with City. It may have not been a big enough step in the right direction but it's still a step.
Next summer will be important for City as far as decision making goes.

Wasn't Manchester City like FC Eindhoven before Mancini. That is compared to PSV. I am sure the FC Eindhoven fans would be very happy if they were competing with PSV.

Mancini is a HORRIBLE manager IMO and with a budget like that, and the players at his disposal, City should be first no excuses.
He HAS to go
He HAS to go

Last time City was this high in Premier League was 76-77 and City was most of this season the 1st (and will finish 2nd at least), but majority wants Mancini to get sacked? Doesn't make sense...

because they aren't 2nd because of Mancini they are 2nd because of the WC players.... if they had a competent manager they would be first and not have all the on and off field mess..
Many times during this season Mancini's dumb tactics have cost City, and his interviews on his players have made things any easier and constantly asking for more players

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
That's an easy way to shrug off Mancini's influence... it was him after all who asked for Agüero, Yaya, Silva, etc. much better than what Hughes brought in. It's better now for Man City to try to keep squad and coach relatively intact and ensure that they keep fighting for title for every year. Sooner or later they are bound to win it.Legend wrote:Error wrote:Last time City was this high in Premier League was 76-77 and City was most of this season the 1st (and will finish 2nd at least), but majority wants Mancini to get sacked? Also, you do know that changing manager doesn't guarantee the 1st place? They could just end up like Chelsea after Ancelotti (from CL spot to Europa league) or Valencia after Flores (from CL spot to relegation candidate).
How about you facepalm at your own club. You haven't been 1st or 2nd since 04-05.drakefyre wrote:Error wrote:Last time City was this high in Premier League was 76-77 and City was most of this season the 1st (and will finish 2nd at least), but majority wants Mancini to get sacked? Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Looking at how good they were in the beginning of the season, ripping United apart and crushing a lot of team in the League, it is a disappointment that they will finish 2nd and will not win any trophy having been knocked out of Champion's and Europa's league very quickly.
I don't know why City has not been able to keep on and has not been able to win. They maybe still lacks experience and add too much new players.
I am happy the have not won the league, but they are getting stronger every year.

lol , thats a sound argument . It'd be pretty hard to find a Valencia fan these days having Mendieta in their avatar , don't you think ?
And today's not the day a Madrid fan should be poking fun at Valencia , don't you think ?

According to your logic , Hughes shouldn't have been sacked in the first place .

Bentitez a top manager?
Put down the pipe.
What exactly warrants Mancini being a 'top manager'? The only reason Mancini is a manager today is because of the Calciopoli.
