Bentitez a top manager?
Put down the pipe.
Won the trophy that Mancini will never win and also won La Liga twice and broke the Barca and Madrid monopoly.
Yh he's crap
The media in this country have done a great job in painting Benitez as an awful manager with no clue.

I think motivating a squad also falls into a manager's responsibility.

Other clubs besides Madrid and Barca were winning the league back then. The Madrid/Barca thing started after he left though.

Most of their buys are awful. The Defence and Hart are great. However, looking at the midfield.Barry, absolutely awful player.Nowhere near the level for what is believed to be a WC side.Milner,Just like Barry.Toure however,is fantastic but its clear that he went to city for the money..Hes not tracking back nor putting any effort. All that said,They cant bench him because he is their best midfielder by a distance. The Attack, they need to sell Balo immediately before his price drops.Hes lazy, has a bad attitude and is extremly overhyped.Adam Johnson needs to leave I belive he has really great potential and he shouldnt waste it there.

Mourinho when he ran them to their limit after the CL, he left at the right time. They needed new players, but only signed them after they sacked Benitez.
Seriously, the myth about Benitez are just incredible lmao. manicin doesnt compare to Benitez.

Deportivo la Coruña
Benitez ain't as bad as he's made out to be... I mean a Champions League (and a final), usual CL qualification, 2 Ligas and an FA cup can't be that bad.
Inter... Mourinho jumping ship after a treble win tells you the whole story. Their table place does not lie.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Are we really blaming Benitez for Inter's downfall? he was thier 6 months and they needed a re-building job and he wasnt given the time to do it.
That's like blaming AVB for Chelsea's downfall ffs
Also look where Liverpool went since he left
Media have done a truly fantastic job making him look awful

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Dalglish ruined one of the best sides we ever had and replaced it with shit and he's struggling to finish top 10 after spending more money without selling than Benitez ever did. ( seriously 100m on shit ffs)
So yh you could say my opinion of Dalglish is'nt the greatest.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Yes, Mancini should be sacked pronto.
Benitez is a fantastic manager, and I can't believe people are blaming him for Inter's drop in form after Mourinho left. If Benitez is put in charge of Manchester City and is given sufficient time then I think the club can achieve great things.

Assuming they will maintain their position. Can somebody explain how finishing second is considered a failure?
This is Man.City were talking about here. They've come along way.

I'm sure many City fans are just happy that they are fighting for the title. A lot of their fans were singing we're not really here in the third division at one point.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
honestly imo, Daglish is getting alot of time for a manager who has spent easily over 100m
they ripped into Benitez after one bad season
imo Benitez is underrated and disrespected on this forum for some unknown reason
he did flop with Inter, but so did Ranieri, Leonardo, and Gasperini
he took Liverpool and Valencia to new heights and helped make Torres one of the best EPL strikers
i think if anyone has a chance with City, its him

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
So during these past dark ages of Madrid burning huge ammounts of money, having quality teams and yet stuck in constant 2nd spot is good enough for you?Seppuku wrote:Assuming they will maintain their position. Can somebody explain how finishing second is considered a failure?

City is trying to become one of the best sides in the world. They should be a little more ambitious than that.
Nevermind the furious masturbation some forum members were giving their team early on in the season. All hype, no results.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
They are trying to become a club of that stature.
My point still stands.
If you want to become one of the big boys, you just don't dress up like one and that's it. You have to prove it in the field.

Your point falls apart when you see the fans in the stands though.
Ask many of them who have been with the team from the start and they will tell you that overall they are happy just to be competing for the title. Although losing to United sucks.
City have failed to win a trophy yes but looking at the big picture they have still come a long way and the foundations have been built so that they will win trophies in the future.
As for your Madrid comparison I don't think it holds water, Madrid have spent many years on the path of excellence winning has become an expectation. City are not at that stage yet and won't be till they have consistent success.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Sure they were shit a couple of years ago,but when you spend that much money you shouldn't expect less than first place.I mean Newcastle's squad has cost around 120 times less than City's squad and theyre like only 15 points ahead.I mean with the amount of money theyve spent id think their squad would be along the lines of something like this:Hart-richards-kompany-silva-enrique-De Rossi-Toure-silva-Robben-Eriksen-Aguero

Sorry Zeal, but fans dont run the club. If Bernabeu had thought in similar lines, then Madrid would not have achieved their current status. The expectation of excellence and winning has to come from the top and trickle down to the fans.
The intolerance for failure should be there from day 1 and it should start from the top, only then will the club achieve that status.

Re: Will Mancini be sacked?
Don't get me wrong it's still a failure and someone has to bite the bullet but you can't dress this up as a big failure of a super club because quite frankly it isn't.
City will just hire new people and try again.
