Re: Brazil National Team
It's been over a year since the WC and it's still a disjointed team with no chemistry hoping for an individual moment of brilliance.

Why the *bleep* is Dunga neglecting to call up Coutinho again?
You can't possibly tell me he's been worst than all those scrubs that get called up from the Brazilian league.
Anyways he's picked up form again. Been back to his last season self lately.

Coutinho had his chance...Oscar too.

The funny thing is I think Brazil is right up there with Germany, Spain and France in terms of available talent for their team. Maybe not quite as much depth at every position, but they have great players available everywhere. I would line-up something like this:
Then you're sitting on guys like Marquinhos, Danilo, Luis, Jorginho, Gustavo, Oscar, Willian, Hulk, etc.
With a competent coach that's a WC challenging team. No idea why they're so lifeless and poor.
Diego Alves
Dani Alves - David Luiz - Thiago Silva - Marcelo
Fernandinho - Lucas
Douglas Costa - Philippe Coutinho - Neymar
Firmino

Well Hulk doesn't play in the middle, which Firmino and Coutinho do, and Costa is a better team player than Hulk, and is in similar form. There's no way Hulk starts over Neymar so who is he starting over?

Preliminary squad.
Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Marcelo not in. Neymar has decided to play Olympics instead after Barca gave him the ultimatum.

Re: Brazil National Team
Gabriel Jesus is legit. To me, he's the biggest young talent coming out of Brasil right now. He showed glimpses of what he can do last year when he was playing out of position in a team with no midfield creativity. He's been even better since moving from a winger with defensive duties to a second forward. I also think he can be a CF since he's got the skill set for that. He's a great dribbler and an even better finisher.

Re: Brazil National Team
The full Copa squad:
Goalkeepers: Alisson (Internacional), Diego Alves (Valencia) and Ederson (Benfica)
Defenders: Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Fabinho (Monaco), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Douglas Santos (Atletico Mineiro), Miranda (Inter Milan), Gil (Shandong Luneng), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo)
Midfielders: Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Elias (Corinthians), Casemiro (Real Madrid), Rafinha (Barcelona), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Lucas Lima (Santos) and Willian (Chelsea)
Forwards: Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich), Hulk (Zenit), Ricardo Oliveira (Santos) and Gabriel (Santos)
----
No Marcelo, Gabriel Jesus, Lucas Moura, Felipe Anderson, or Roberto Firmino.....but 35 Oliveira is good enough to lead the line? Dunga...I'm not impressed. Only smart move he did was not include David Luis

As long as Dunga remains, it doesn't really matter who is called up.
It's just the same old bullshit by the CBF.

Re: Brazil National Team
I hope Miranda will be called up just for the Copa, he is so fundamental for us ...
Felipe Anderson was crap this year ( back to his real level ? ) , for the rest I agree.
And is it true Dunga wants to make Brazilian Lucas Pratto ?

Re: Brazil National Team
Felipe Anderson was shit for the olympic team as well. Andreas Pereira did significantly more in his substitute appearances but FA is still the starter for some reason.
I haven't hear anything about a Brasilian Lucas Pratto but I really doubt it. We won't even go for a foreign coach so I think an Argentinian player is out of the question.

Re: Brazil National Team
Barcelona have brokered a deal with Brazilian outfit Corinthians to sign 17-year-old prospect Caio Emerson.
The striker was the top scorer as his club won the national Under-17 Cup, and his performances put him on the radar of Chelsea and Manchester City.
Barca, however, have won the race for his signature, with the player already have put pen to paper on a contract that guarantees him to the Spanish champions as soon as he turns 18. A deal is in place that will run five years.
Caio will go to Spain courtesy of the deal being conducted by agent Ruben Gaggiol, who was the same man who took Lionel Messi to the club.
The news will come as a blow to Manchester City, who have followed the attacker for six years and had held hope of recruiting him this summer.
Meanwhile, an investment fund was trying to by Caio to pass him to Chelsea, but the player’s future now lies with Barcelona.

Re: Brazil National Team
No neymar no party tbh.. Neymar is the only reason brazil even stands a remote chance in any tournament, he's the reason Brazil are even called contenders tbh, just take a look at santos since he left, they've gone from libertadores Champions/Favourties to state champions specialists .
Single handedly Won brazil the Confeds Cup (against a Dominant Spain, a Suarez led Uruguay, a great Italy, a treatning Mexico and to a lesser extent a promising Japan, all champions from different competitions),
In 2012, Brazil were finalists in the Olympics,
In 2014, Injured for the 14 WC semi final and brazil go on to loose their next 2 games in embarrassing fashion,
In 2015, red carded in the Copa 15 and brazil go on to loose their only knockout match,
In 2016, Neymar doesn't play again in COPA 16 and Brazil are eliminated from the 1st round in a group of haiti, peru and ecuador.
Now, because of his hot head he's virtually suspended for half of the CONMEBOL qualifiers/games and brazil are busy languishing in 6th position after just 6 matches.
If not for his hot headedness, Neymar probably would have led brazil to the last Copa in 2015. He probably even had the best single game in the whole of that tournament against peru.
Oh well, so much for dunga as a coach. And now, he's pretty much even destroying the only weapon we have by playing him in a position he's least effective in.

Re: Brazil National Team
Your right, but this is Brazil. It's a proud football nation and them putting up displays like this is very embarrassing (and as a neutral it sucks, you always want to see legendary sides stay on top). They shouldn't have to relay on Neymar or any 1 player. They have decent enough talent besides him. As a proud nation, these fools should of found a way to get out of such an easy group
As I said like 50 times in the groups thread, there is no way this is the absolute strongest side Brazil could of fielded. Dunga is a stubborn idiot who refuses to conform and look forward. If Brazil were smart they would give him a boot and look for other options.

Corinthians coach. He won Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup.
He was favorite after 2014 World Cup but for some inexplicable reasons, CBF picked Dunga.

Re: Brazil National Team
From Tite's wikipedia:
"This man became Brazil's coach when Dunga got sacked. He is an improvement, with that being said a snail would have also been an improvement on Dunga. Seeing the lack of forwards, his first action is to recall Romaldo."
