Calm and composed Real Madrid XI

I thought about it a lot, most of our players lose their minds so easily and that's one of our weaknesses against Barca. we can't string 3 successful passes under pressure, so what if we try to use our calmest players against them ? would it make us any better ?

I wish we had two Alonso too.

Sahin is not fit enough to play against Barcelona. Arbeloa is not a CB too, playing with two defender against Barcelona ?

I can put Carvalho there but I honestly think Arbs would be better as a Cb under these circumstances

Absolutely zero width, this would get destroyed by Villareal

I don't think it's wise to play Varane in a match like this, even though he may be talented

Wise and composed... Lass? Dude, play Sahin ASAP and get him in shape. He's very composed and is a big game player (he's German, after all).

Di Maria can't be benched, IMO. Even if he's explosive, his passes/crosses/shots are more composed than anything.

Not the most composed formation but I think the balance it brings is very good between the lines. The transition from defense to attack would be interesting to see. Push Benzema in as SS, with Marcelo occupying the left flank and Pepe pushed up next to Alonso. Alternatively, Di Maria can be pushed in as SS too with Hig on RW, Marcelo on the left flank again and Benz as CF.

Pepe, Lass and Di Maria aren't calm and composed imo.

Agreed. That's why I opt for Pepe in midfield where he can use his best abilities (rushing and tackling) and leave the composed game for someone else.

i like this line up but id rather change the highlighted ones

Di Maria can be transformed into an AM.. or CM to be honest.

He has the vision, the dribbling andd the passing and pressing skills of a CM.

he was used as a AM against Sevilla and it worked wonders...

it was....

Callejon.....Di Maria.......Ronaldo

..........Benzema.....

with his central role he gave through ball assist to Ronaldo and a Long ball assist to Callejon and also score a goal himself...

Ofcourse that AM role is in the 4-2-3-1 formation

when and IF we play 4-3-3 against barca.... he can play as a CM and play alongside Khedira? or even Sahin???

the trio of ....

Sahin/Alonso.......Di Maria


this will work wonders as Di Maria will press in the middle with his immense stamina and also create chances and dribble and provide critical passes down the middle or long balls ocassionally.


that would Leave.... Callejon..........Ronaldo....... Benz ... trio in the Forward line... as Benz and Callejon will press from the wings...

not to mention Ronaldo was used as a striker in the first half of copa del rey as well as you all might remember...


So what do you guys have to say about Di maria's new role?
