Badstuber meant Serie A players, though. If you hear a German footballer, or supporter, say "the Spaniards", and it's about club football, he'll mean any La Liga player, same goes for "the Italians" and Serie A players.

He's not talking about some kind of genetical predisposition to dive, he's talking about the Serie A footballing culture.

It is a change in the refereeing standards from Germany and Europe. In the Bundesliga you can get away with Raping a player in the field (not really but you get the point) which is not tolerated in Europe. Also, Napoli who are a devious bunch do not represent the whole of Serie A.

Not to mention that in Serie A if Cavani did that he would be banned for 2-4 matches, so Napoli only use Europe's lighter refereeing to their advantage.
