Tough game coming up lads...Watched them against Juve and they caused them all sort's of problems and with our terrible record at the Ferraris I expect were in for another difficult encounter..

I don't want to see Borrielo starting again for a long time.Bojan offers us much more in terms of pace and creativity while Borriello looks clueless.Lamela in the hole playing the Totti role with Pjanic just behind him while Gago doing the dirty work in midfield.

so we may or may not see pjanic on wednesday depending on his fitness levels

i would rather see Borriello rested on Wednesday so he can be 100% on Saturday. i want to see him score against Milan again. last time was priceless (€$£ literally, it was, since they were paying his wages at the time)

^^After last games performance, I don't think we will be seeing Marco for a while, bet on him to leave in January...He was great for us last year, but he doesn't seem to have a place this year. Then again the same can be said about a few players...Cassetti/Taddei/Juan...

I'd personally like to see Borini get some time in here the next two games... I hope Simplicio gets another chance too...The guy has did nothing but impress...

In my honest opinion guys, there's not much between Osvaldo and Borriello. At the moment, I only see two differences between the two: Osvaldo is managing to put the ball in the net consistently while Borriello hasn't been able to hit his stride and Osvaldo comes back to defend on corners. Either than that, they're practically identical in terms of technical ability, speed, etc.

Back to the game, if Pjanic isn't fully fit, I wouldn't play him. That means that there would be two spots in midfield to be assigned, it seems, on rotation.

Bojan - Osvaldo - Lamela

he was signed to be developed further in the primavera first. he's not senior squad quality

Exactly. Enrique has already used 27 different players on the first team, no need to go down in the primavera to find more players at the moment. But, Cassetti getting a rest is not out of the question, maybe Taddei will start against Genoa. Osvaldo might be rested midweek as well, anything is possible.

Cassetti > Cicinho. Better in all defensive aspects of the game, not much difference in terms of crossing and speed, the only thing Cicinho has on him is dribbling. Cassetti is also much more energetic than Cicinho who's way past his prime. Cassetti is getting old too, but still has much more to offer compared to Cicero.

I personally hope we don't see Cicinho anymore. The guy sucks...I'd rather have Cassetti 10/10 times.

I agree totally....But you can't sit your nearly 20 million dollar signing...Borriello never had a chance when Enrique arrived...He will be shown the door this winter for better or for worse...

Honestly, the Osvaldo signing still somewhat puzzles me, even though he is in excellent form...

FYP. Seriously should have been the main focus of last Mercato...If there was one thing to fault Sabatini on this is it...I think he will look to sign new fullbacks in the winter though...It has been seen that Angel still has much to learn, and possibly can one day be effective in his role...I haven't liked his game at all outside some flashes of brilliance. He is young though, and that is a positive. I hope he can grow into the role...

On the right side, Rosi has looked promising, but just doesn't quite have it yet...

What I'm trying to say is, with Rosi and Angel on either side, we won't be competing for trophy's for the foreseeable future. We need better full backs, both of these players would be excellent backups RIGHT NOW...I don't think they are ready for the grind just yet....

Id go for a new central defender too, Juan/Heinze/Burdisso - no one of them is really world class anymore. And with attacking fullbacks we are very weak at the back.

I watched quite a few Roma games. I see two problems in your team. The first one is that your CB are atrocious. Kjaer is atrocious, slow and inconsistent. Heinze is well past it. Burdisso is meh. Second problem is that you only have width through the full backs, who have 0 ability to drible. Your team would benefit a lot from 1-2 players who could drible out wide or cutting in and provide superiority. I don't know if Lamela is this guy. Bojan isn't; he needs space to drible and is mainly a finisher, but can do a good job out wide (and he has been one of the best Roma players every time I've watched you).

Genoa-Roma: Stekelenburg, Perrotta, Heinze, Burdisso, J. Angel; Gago, De Rossi, Pizarro; Borini, Lamela, Bojan.

Good lineup, I like it.
