Do the press fabricate what players say?

1 or 2 months ago this dude Elia ''said'' Juventus was not on Hamburg's level, and he thought Arsenal and Chelsea was (currently?) bigger than Juventus.

Now he ''says'' that moving to Juventus was a ''DREAM COME TRUE''?

there are also examples with Cristiano Ronaldo often being misquoted. For example, when JOKED that crowd whistle at him, coz he they envy his looks, money and fame. and the press made it out like he was being arrogant. I don't know if this is true.

Also during the Summer, Sneijder sometimes said ''he wanted to leave Inter'', then a week after he said: ''I never said that''

Your a bit late on this bro, when he said those things about Juventus a long time ago, that was all fake, he never said that. He even went on twitter and said, 'Juve fans, don't worry I did not say that'.

Well, he (Elia) also denied saying that "Juventus was on the same level on Hamburg"

It is probably players not thinking before speaking, Elia may have said that thinking that a move to Juventus wasn't even possible at the time, then was quick to retract as the move was near completion on his Twitter account.
