As for the list Don Alfredo is the undisputed king right now as far as goals and performances go.
Puskas, César, Gento and Raul follow after that.
Messi straight after and catching up fast.
Hugo Sanchez, Xavi, Puyol, Luis Suarez, Kubala, Juanito, Santillanna, Rivaldo and Mr. 5-0 5-0 Laudrup.
Zamarano, Smatier, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos and Eto'o.
Something like that.

Re: Is Messi the King of El Classico?
Messi contributes much much more than goals, for example in the November Classico Messi put two amazing assists but didn't score.Zealous wrote:I don't care for your patronizing tone.

Messi should probably be only behind Di Stefano at this point because of all the great performances including but not limited to goals.

Most on the list are poachers/goalscorers though, just saying that the all time goalscoring record shouldn't be the only way to rank the best players to play in el ClasicoZealous wrote:I know but the other guys did more than just score as well.

Re: Is Messi the King of El Classico?
Out of Puskas, César, Gento and Raul only Cesar was really a "poacher" as you put it and even then he was still more than just a poacher.
Gento was a winger for example and contributed more than just goals. Puskas was a phenomenon as well and Raul started out as an SS that helped with build up play.
As good as Messi is he isn't number one on this list. However he is still is very young so who knows he could be very soon.
(Remember that Puskas and Di Stefano came to Real Madrid in their late 20's so who knows how many they would have scored had they came earlier)

Adit making up stats again.
u mad?
theres a massive difference between 3 goals in 2 games and 2 goals in 2 games
He destroyed united like any other team, you can boast about the massive difference though.
Its 2 goals in 4 games in the UCL.
If you had watched football before the 2010 season you would know that messi had ONE good game against united wich was the 2011 final. Everyone with just one bit of footballing knowledge would know that iniesta destroyed united in 09.
Back on topic, I was refering the the clasico´s and as far as I know united does not feature in that, so:
Have there been anyone more influential than messi in the madrid-barca showdowns?
Just one good game.Thats not true.
Played the SF at OT on one leg and yet put in a MOM performance.
Jusst because Xavi and Iniesta stole the show in the CL final doesnt mean Messi was poor.
Messi had a very good game and I remember 4 United players(including Vidic,Ferdinand and Rooney) having to hack him down to contain him.
So make that 3 brilliant games.
