Can van Gaal resurrect Inter, like he did Bayern?
Van Gaal is imo the perfect for man for Inter at this moment. Inter's team this season is still much better than that of Bayern which he led to a double and a CL final. I think he could be succesfull with Inter.

Given the current situation, definitely yes. It's not like SAF, Pep and Mourinho are wandering around jobless.
Plus, Van Gaal's still a great coach. One dodgy season shouldn't detract from his overall good work.

Van Gaal is a good coach. He's a complete tyrant which comes in handy in situations such as these. But Inter do NOT, in a million years, have the players necessary to play van Gaal football.
He'd definitely would have been a better choice than Enrique for Roma, if you want a mini Barca, though

Van Gaal is good with building a team but then he ruin it with his ego, my advise is get him for 1year
Re: Can van Gaal resurrect Inter, like he did Bayern?
Atleast Inter would play good football instead of the usual boring snooze fest.

Van Gaal is a possession manager. Inter have a counter attacking team. Like in Benitez' case, I don't see it working.

Is Benitez a possession manager?
Van Gaal does want total control otherwise it will go bad. I like the way he can build up a team but there is also a risk factor to it.
Imo, Inter has enough quality to make an attempt of it, specially with a n10 in Sneijder, and Defenders that like to go up and press, Lucio for ex; fullbacks that like to go up, a natural 9, wide players etc... Only thing they are lacking is a tempo setter. Counter-Attacking is a team mentality and philosophy that can be changed, but it will take time.

I think Van Gaal would clash so fast with Moratti that he wouldn't survive many matches, no matter the success. In the case of Bayern, he managed to upset the big wigs, too, but they appear a bit more patient than Moratti would be.

LOL at ppl underrating Van Gaal.
This is the forum feels Rafa is a joke and Hiddink is a genius while Van gaal is better then the latter.
Van Gaal would be perfect for inter as despite the conflict in philosophy, he is a man who can change that and one of the few managers that has balls. His defensive sense isn't the best but Inter has the assistants to help him. Highly underrated in this forum.
But we all know captain yellowtooth moratti will aquire a sub-par provincial coach who he can boss around. Probably Zenga, Cosmi or Rossi.

I agree van Gaal could instill a revolution at Inter, but really, does Moratti have the patience for that? They'd need to spend quite a bit because I'm not sure about the quality of Inter's youth academy.Arquitecto wrote:LOL at ppl underrating Van Gaal.

IIRC, van Gaal doesn't know Italian, either.

Exactly.
Van Gaal is the archetype of a manager that Moratti doesn't like. Italian? It is relatively easy to learn and his knowledge of Espanol will only make it easier. Robinho was superbly fluent within 2-3 months. True story.
Even then Inter have many who speak english as it is along with translators such as Sneijder.
If given time, it would pay off.

Sure, from EspaƱol to Italian it's really 6 months of practical experience, you don't even need to study due to their similarities.Arquitecto wrote:Sushi Master wrote:I agree van Gaal could instill a revolution at Inter, but really, does Moratti have the patience for that? I'm just thinking in Moratti's shoes. It seems all those titles during Calciopoli and the CL cup have made him think of Inter as one of the great clubs who have to win everything, every year... but clearly it's in heavy decline and it's entering an age of rebuilding when titles won't come that easily.
Van Gaal would be great, but as long as we have Moratti thinking that way they're going to be entering another one of those dark ages.

One thing I am sure of is that Van Gaal will sell must old players in Inter maybe including the grand captain himself
Re: Can van Gaal resurrect Inter, like he did Bayern?
Yeah. Van Gaal was stupid for kicking out MvB! Expect him to get rid of anyone who it too outspoken.
