Re: The Communist Thread
China is still very closer to communism, they are far from a capital country. The Chinese government still controls major aspects of the economy and society. For example, just about every Chinese bank is state owned, so the government decides which businesses and individuals will get the most favorable loans. The domestic media are entirely state owned as well and offer uniformly favorable political coverage. Perhaps the biggest vestige of classical communism is the fact that every square inch of land in the country still belongs to the government
Re: The Communist Thread
As I said, communism disguised as a capitalism.
In other words, they want the same power, but conceed the communist economic model does not work
Not something Marx or Lenin would preach.

Re: The Communist Thread
China is industrialized in the essence of communism ,having a chikings or american company over there doesnt mean they are capitals, they obviously are liberalized but its far from a capitalist country and build in the essence of communism.
Re: The Communist Thread
Agreed on that china is definitely liberalized but their foundation is still communism. As i said about land and banking sectors.Sushi Master wrote:As I said, communism disguised as a capitalism.

Socalism has its major flaws, but the few benefits of it are better then any benefit I can think of from capitalism.

The difference in money between the rich and the poor is far higher in capital system.

I still don't see how India is considered communist.Adit wrote:Agreed on that china is definitely liberalized but their foundation is still communism. As i said about land and banking sectors.Sushi Master wrote:As I said, communism disguised as a capitalism.

I can tell you living in a REAL communist country, not half assed as you call it, that it's a pain in the ass. Government constantly grabbing land? Government constantly seizing small and large business for state purposes, thus spooking any future investors with money, job opportunities and stunting growth? PDVSA, CANTV, ENELVEN (Venezuela's only oil exporter, telecomunications and electric companies respectively) all government owned and in shit condition compared to when they were privately owned? Daily blackouts, some taking as long as 6 to 8 hours, along with a year of electric rationing because the government did not maintain our hydroelectric dams? Imagine EVERY DAY your city being without power for 3 hours, rotating weekly depending on the sector. Along the country, with frakking 40 degree weather.
20% annual inflation? Complete lack of freedom of speech? Silly censorship, be it TV, cinema, games because the government cannot take critique? Corruption so bad I think of cops as burglars with badges? Useless military spending in buying AKs, Sukhois and other toys, when there are much more drastric needs at hand? Handing out oil to other nations in exchange for "friendship"? Adopting an anti American approach, thus turning us into the bad boys of the region? Totalitarian government with no dreams of backing down any time soon? No jobs available for educated youth so we're forced to work for slave wages and slave work?
I could go on all frakking day, but to tell me communist regimes work is spitting on my face and kicking me in the balls. China even in the future will be a great economic power (due to a totally capitalistic approach) but will still have it's population under the police state mentality. And it's a shitty mentality to have, believe me.
F-yes. Healthcare is a completely awesome thing every country should invest in. I don't say every country has to adapt a total left wing approach, neither a right wing one, because extremes just frakk everything up. There needs to be a balance.Socalism has its major flaws, but the few benefits of it are better then any benefit I can think of from capitalism.

Re: The Communist Thread
Communism is like a teacher giving each student the class average as a grade instead of his own grade. Absolutely stupid.

Re: The Communist Thread
i like the idea of it, but its a fail... nothing better than democracy yet!
as for china, they are communist just because its easier to control population that way.... they can devalue their currency and block google... and they are nowhere a best country in the world, got a long way to go!
some war song....
but we all got to appreciate communism, for USSR and kicking nazis in the ass

Re: The Communist Thread
Every extreme is crap. Communism could work with certain regulations but overall it's too extreme to work. Capitalism without restrictions would be hell too.

Re: The Communist Thread
What it all boils down to is that so long as assholes and weak willed people form a large part of the world's population then it won't really matter what political systems are used.
Utopia is a nice ideal but it's starts with every individual person first.

Re: The Communist Thread
We haven't seen proper Communism yet anyway. No country has yet managed to implement Marxist Communism, all we've had is dictatorships with some vaguely socialist rhetoric.
Even Leninism is already so far removed from the teachings of Marx and Engels, it's not even funny. Don't even start with Mao, he just had a hard-on for murder, he would've taken any excuse he could've got to make himself into a demigod and everyone else into cannon fodder.
So I, as a political scientist, would be highly uncomfortable with saying that it has failed.
And now have a sip, comrade!
