Nope, dont think that happened at all.
Xavi said it, I think Puyol or Pique may have said it once. Dont recall anything more then that.

Felt more than that :L
Media threw it around a bit.
And Barca kept telling Fabregas to move.
But that isn't really the point of the topic, is it?

Papers ? Source from the club ? A friend who know a friend who know a friend who know Cesc's friend ? Insider ?

He made the move happen by waiving 5m worth of wages (1m per season for 5 seasons) so we could use that 5m to give to Arsenal.
That is a pretty commonly known fact I believe.
Bartomeu
"all the people from Barça who have put in effort to complete this signing" he gave special thanks to the attitude of the player. As explained by the Vice President of the Sporting Area, during the first five seasons Cesc will give up one million Euros per year, which will be paid to Arsenal. "We really have to thank Cesc for the effort he’s made to come here" he said. Along the same lines, and after pointing out that FC Barcelona’s financial limitations have been "the biggest brake" in negotiations with Arsenal, Bartomeu stressed that "the final push was given by the player".
"Reaching agreement with him was easy. He really wanted to come, but obviously Arsenal didn’t want a great player like him to leave. The negotiations began after the Champions League Final. The 29 million Euros is the figure we’ve maintained from the outset, but it’s clear that the push that Cesc gave has been very important to make his signing a reality" he added.

waiving his wages != paying from his pocket .
Yes , he accepted a monetary loss for a move to the club he supported . And as a football fan , a part of me would have been very disappointed if he he stayed at Arsenal cos of the wages .
As for the OP
I'm pretty sure Arsenal fans accept Fabregas's decision to go to Barca . It was always a question of when . And they respect him for being professional during his time at Arsenal , and his contributions on pitch .
Fabregas basically had one really disappointing game last season , and quite a handful of good games . 9 goals and 17 assists in 35 games in a injury plagued season isnt shocking by anyone's standards .
If you really want a topic to discuss - here's one
I do not know if anyone has realised this, I'm sure most on the forums have, but Ju Park has been in outstanding form of late .
On behalf of Monaco fans, I'm sure you lot must feel sick to death over this. In comparison to the absolutely shocking 2010-2011 season, his last with Monaco, I would actually go on to say that he is unprofessional.
Here's another
I do not know if anyone has realised this, I'm sure most on the forums have, but Bendtner has been in outstanding form of late .
On behalf of Arsenal fans, I'm sure you lot must feel sick to death over this. In comparison to the absolutely shocking 2010-2011 season, his last with the Gunners, I would actually go on to say that he is unprofessional.
I can think of a few more , but I'm sure you got the point .

Re: Fabregas
now now, with the defence of osasuna every third division club could smash them. Cant belive they actually allow to go strikers forward, no tackle no pressure, absolutely nothing.Gil wrote:Just scored another great goal.

Because i mean it lol, atleast in Barca's system he's much better fitted to being a forward than he is a midfielder......
His movement off the ball is awful, far too static when you compare it to Xavi and Iniesta he does'nt have any type of dribbling skills and finds it hard to escape his markers with the ball at his feet.....
Said it before and ill say it again he's the Spanish Lampard his game is revolved around the final pass and getting on the end of through balls and score goals......
Never in a million years is he replacing Xavi, just simply doesnt have the skillset for it.
And no this isnt kneejerk because i have been saying this for years lol.

Cant belive we struggled against Osasuna last year. Its like their objective is getting butt raped rather than getting some points. I hope they get *bleep* relegated

Re: Fabregas
Barcelona looking very good though, xcx, but indeed, Osasuna isn't even really trying at all.
Dani Alves is great so far,
Barcelona perfect match so far, although they could be more efficient. Could have been 5-0 or 6-0 by now.
