Well when you look at this seasons mercato compared to last season excluding signings on the last 3 days

2010: Yepes, Papastathopolous, Amelia, Boateng
2011: Mexes, Taiwo, El Shaarawi, Paloschi (even though he was loaned out), Aquilani

In 2010, Berlusconi would have felt the pressure to buy a big player (or two) at the end of the transfer market because we needed them so bad. But in 2011, we still have those players plus the likes if Cassano and Van Bommel who arrived in between. We also signed some pretty good players Mexes, Taiwo and Aquilani plus a long term investment in El Shaarawi. Yes, we would like to see a new player, but I would hardly call it a gift, the only transfers I can see being done are the Montolivo with us offering the 10mil finally
