Re: Steed Malbranque
hope its nothing serious.
Its a shame because he is still a very good player with a few years playing left in him.
I expected him to do very well in la ligue

If its nothing too serious, I hope Steed does well at Etienne. Was sad to see him leave Sunderland as he was one of our best players last season.

(Henry Winter): Thoughts with Steed Malbranque & his family. Steed has retired from football to look after his son who is suffering from cancer
Not nice
Best wishes to Steed and his family, hopefully his son can beat it.

Re: Steed Malbranque
From Sunderland's official website.
http://www.safc.com/news/20110905/malbranque-reassures-supporters-_2256213_2442128
It turns out that this rumor is just BS.And Malbranque doesnt even have a son let alone someone affected by cancer.
One must be really pathetic to start rumors like this. And the journalists equally idiots to print the story without even the smallest piece of research.

Former Sunderland midfielder Steed Malbranque has spoken out to reassure supporters with concerns about the health of his young family.
False reports at the weekend claimed the 31 year-old has a seriously ill son and Malbranque has moved to allay supporters' fears in a statement issued by London solicitors Thomas Cooper, confirming he does not have a son and that no member of his immediate family is ill.
In the statement, Malbranque's agent, Sebastien Boisseau, said: "Steed has read with concern the recent stories currently circulating about him and his family.
"He would like to reassure all of his friends in England and throughout world football that these stories are wholly without foundation.
"Steed does not have a son and his immediate family are all in good health. Steed does not know the origin of these stories but would like to stress that they are without merit.
"He trusts that they will now cease immediately."
Malbranque, who left Sunderland to return to France last month, joining Ligue 1 side Saint-Étienne, has also thanked Sunderland supporters for their concern and warm wishes in the statement.
Boisseau added: "Despite the fact that the reports are untrue, Steed is very appreciative of the concern Sunderland supporters have shown and he would like to thank them for the many warm and thoughtful messages he has received."

Re: Steed Malbranque
Wonder if Bruce would be tempted to sign him on the free.
Steed was one of my favourite players and I would be delighted if he resigned for us.

Re: Steed Malbranque
Cant see it
The reason we let him go was because he was a high wage earner, reportedly the highest at the club.
Doubt we would bring him back unless he took a significant wage cut.
