Re: Breaking Bad
Just saw it tonight. Crazy.
An interesting observation I think which ties this episode closely with the season 3 penultimate episode and s3 finale.
Anyway, I can't wait to see the next episode.

- Spoiler:
- Anybody notice how in a way, Walt not killing Jesse in the desert was Walt choosing a half measure, instead of a full measure? By killing Jesse, he would destroy the largest and easiest way for Hank to get the evidence he needs to take Walt down. Killing him was the full measure, the way to ensure nothing could go wrong, the logical choice.
Instead Walt chose a half measure in letting Jesse take on a new life. It could have worked out perfectly. As we can see, it didn't.
But this is why I believe Walt was genuine. His judgement was clouded by the way he sees Jesse as a surrogate son, as the man that Walt sculpted. In a way, I think Walt feels as responsible for Jesse as his own drug empire he created. At the same time, he's been through so much with Jesse, he does see him as an equal and someone he couldn't kill unless he had to, so he chose a half measure and decided he didn't have to, when he should have gone all the way.
Anyway, I can't wait to see the next episode.

Re: Breaking Bad
Nobody to talk about tonight's episode?
All I can say is Skyler man. You can argue about several of the important points in that episode but for me that was the strongest.

Re: Breaking Bad
I think in episodes like this you can feel the series suffer from only having 8 episodes to work with. Kinda how with Walt's retirement last season seemed to come out of nowhere. Here you have Hank's confession to Gomez and Jesse's confession entirely skipped over.
Also CB Skyler has no idea about the relationship Walt has with Jesse. Skyler just heard Walt list all his crimes in the previous episodes and to her not killing one more person is understandably insane. Walt sees Jesse as his surrogate son and considers him family. Skyler just sees a junkie.

Re: Breaking Bad
But Skyler is relentlessly moral and pure and always has been. She serves as the character to put all other characters and their moral misgivings in perspective. Other than the money laundering, which she was somewhat forced into, what other bad things has she done, or even thought about?
She was on a slippery slope first with not telling Hank, then helping Walt with the video. I didn't expect she would ask Walt to ever kill someone though. I understand why but did I expect it? No.
She's starting on the same path Walt has gone down, in a way.

No Skyler's path to the darkside has been coming for a while, ever since covering up for Walt and laundering his money. She's not starting on that path, she's been on it for a while now.

Re: Breaking Bad
Starting is the wrong word.
She's slipping down it faster than I thought she would.
Perhaps this is the pinnacle though. She might want him dead but I can't see her doing anything worse, or asking for more dead.

Re: Breaking Bad
Jesse wouldnt turn snitch just like that. Hes seen what it takes to survive in the Breaking Bad world, hes lived through it and now when its over he gets a conscience? It doesnt make sense to me, hes got the money so get out. Just seems like a story they felt they had to tell tbh.

Re: Breaking Bad
This is actually Jesse taking revenge on Walt for Brock and Mike, not him breaking good. He is willing to do whatever it takes to bring down Walt, even if it means making a deal with Hank and probably going to jail himself. First I thought Jesse will survive for sure, now not so much. Does anyone have any theories on what he meant when he said "I'm gonna hit where you really live"? Where does Heisenberg really live

Re: Breaking Bad
I just watched the last ep of season 5
That's not the whole ending is it? Is there a season 6?
Great show. I feel bad for Walter though, it seems like he never really explains himself properly. He never told Mike that Gus threatened his family, he never told Hank why he done what he done, and ends up getting viewed as a man who just wanted to make himself money, and he obviously never explained things well enough to Jesse.
From the beginning it's obvious that Hank would end up finding out about Walt. But man was it hard to watch it all unravel, also with Jesse despising him.

Re: Breaking Bad
Season 5 is split into two parts. Part 1 (Episodes 1-8 ) aired last year and Part 2 (Episodes 9-16) is currently airing. 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are out, three more episodes left.Tomwin Lannister wrote:I just watched the last ep of season 5

And yeah I finally calmed down. Thoughts on the spoiler tag.
- S5 E13:
- What a brilliant episode, absolutely incredible. Thought Hank, Gomez and lots of Nazis would die by the end but we got another cliffhanger :xJesse is in tthe car, think he'll escape the carnage, three more episodes left damn. Starting to think that the M-60 Walt buys in the flashforward is going to be aimed at the Nazis. R

Re: Breaking Bad
Correct me if I'm wrong...I believe the last episode(s) (15-16) will be aired as a two hour season finale.

Re: Breaking Bad
IMDb says they will be aired in different times... But damn I hope you're right. A 2 hour episode finale would be epic
