Hulk
When he does decide to leave Porto which is bound to happen in the next season or 2 ...
Where do you think he will go.

Re: Hulk
Him leaving Porto will be a big problem.
The will not sell for under his release. Anyone wanting to find out how much that is, its a HECK of alot.
As for his ability, he can play for any club, he is that good.
It will be a matter of who has the huge funds to prize him away from Porto.

The 100 million clause in his contract...I'm sure Porto would let him go for 40-45 if someone offered that amount..
I would love to see him in one of the big leagues..Brilliant player to watch...

Pinto da Costa: "I wouldn't trade Hulk for Cristiano Ronaldo. I laugh when I read on the newspapers that Atletico Madrid is interested in players such as Falcao. Alvaro Pereira will also stay with us. Whoever wants our players already knows what they have to do and that is paying upfront the release clauses.", said F.C. Porto President in an attempt to rest the fans about the club maintaining their main players.
Nope, release clause or at least close.
They wont let Hulk go for the same as Falcao, he is better.
They only sold Falcao because the matched the clause (by adding variables and also signing Micael)

City are full to the brim with forwards, Madrid also.
Now Barca have Sanchez, they are the same.
Would love to have him when Villa is phased out though. Is unlikely still.

Well then I guess we won't be seeing Hulk in one of the big leagues anytime soon...

Re: Hulk
Well trust me even if Porto have his release close set to 200M if money is offered they will sell him, I guess they will part ways for 50~57M, it may be high but Portuguese clubs have been pretty ballsy when its come to transfers.
It doesn't need to be Madrid/Barca/City as italian clubs also will need new players to sign. You have Malaga too, if they do the impossible and reach the CL next year a lot of shopping will be done [though FFP will be in effect, will be interesting to see how transfers will go on].

Re: Hulk
Well Pinto Da Costa is a windbag.
Hulk eventually will be sold and it wont be for 100m.
But what I do think is, it will be a incredibly large fee and one not even he can live up to.

Re: Hulk
How come other clubs say in England Spain Italy etc don't seem to have these big clauses in players contracts .Why is it only these Portuguese clubs that seem to do it..
Also is that true about James Rodriguez's clause worth 45 million..Like wtf has he done that makes him worth that amount of money..

Nah, Portugal isnt any different. Benfica sold Luiz and Di Maria for less then their release clause.
Porto sold Bruno Alves for a little less too.
Its just Porto always maximize deals and get very close to release clauses.
edit: I misread. I thought you wrote, why only Portuguese clubs sell for release clause.
No, other clubs have it too. Barca are even worse, some of the numbers are incredible.

I know you are thinking logical, but when has overcrowdedness ever stopped Man City ? Aguero, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Dzeko, Balotelli, Tevez. They are about three forwards over-crowded. Same goes in just about every position.
And realistically only those three teams would put up that kind of money.

Re: Hulk
True, they arent afraid of overcrowing and buying what they dont need. Madrid do that too and I think Barca did that with Cesc, but I hope that is a one off as its a special case with him obviously.
But I do tihnk City are trying to get rid of Santa Cruz, Ade and Tevez is known to want to leave.
i think ideally they want Aguero, Dzeko and Balo and thats it.
But yeah, I could see them going for Hulk if Balo went back to Serie A. They could sign him before Balo goes back in anticipation for it knowing them as you alluding too.

When does his contract run out?
If he wants to leave all he's got to do is refuse to sign a new one...

Re: Hulk
Hulk doesnt seem desperate to leave at all, seems to have a good relationship. I heard him also say how he loves Porto as a city and leaving it would be difficult.
His contract runs out in 2016 fyi, he signed a new one in May.

Re: Hulk
Hmm so basically he would need 250.000k/week and Porto would need about half his buy-out clause.
@Franchise: you make a good point on Balo, I could see him leaving. Problem with Ade and Tevez is that once every big team does not want you, it is impossible to leave when they make that much money.

Re: Hulk
Like has been mentioned, City will be getting rid of forwards in the near future (Ade, Balo). But don't forget about the other big spenders entering the game these days, PSG, Anzhi. Though I doubt Hulk would go to a team that isn't highly prestigious.

Re: Hulk
Anzhi is in Russia. They arent going to be able to attract talented and highly sought after players in their prime. It's very unlikely.
If Porto is willing to accept bids around 40M like Falcao, they will find an easy buyer eventually. If they expect more than that, they will struggle to sell him.
We will see just how much FFP reduce transfer fees across europe.

Falcao release was around that mark, Hulk's is not.
I dont see them releasing Hulk for such a fee.

Re: Hulk
Then they wont sell him, unless he turns into a mercurial player europe is dying for.
It's going to become harder and harder to get clubs to spend that kind of money under the new financial regulations.
If it means that Porto will retain their man, so be it.
