It is unfortunate however.... that this level of finishing... Is not enough. I trust that Benzema will stay consistent so that he can take his finishing to the next level. this level of finishing is not enough if we are to win the 10th cl trophy...

Considering Benzema was given plenty of minutes to play so far in our preseason... Wud he be rested in favour of giving Higuain some minutes to help Higuain regain his former self?

China games are not competitive at all... really playing against D3 or D4 teams. I would expect our regulars to only play a half each game. need to get ready for 14.08 game.

But his speed issues have nothing to do with fitness and weight anymore... those have been resolved. It's a back issue. Just assume this is it in regards to speed and anything more is a pleasant surprise.

Can he get his back in shape again and how much time does it take in average? If he lost weight then sure he'd try to regain his speed as fast as possible, same with Higgy Very Happy

I hate lazy or slow forwards more than anything Very Happy

It will be interesting to see how benz turns out this season. im already betting that his true speed will never return. I hope with the speed handicap that he wud focus on his phsyicality. nothing worse for defenders than a forward who can muscle his way through as he pleases.

Do u hate Ruud Van Nistelrooy by any chance ?

Ruud and Batistuta weren't slow. They had average speed, great positioning, very physical and super clinical Very Happy

As with Higgy, it's hard to tell. Even if it heals completely, you may lose flexibility forever = less speed. You also tend to learn to run differently when you have back problems. It's difficult to change those adjustments back.

I don't think Benz or Higgy are slow. They're fast enough. They just won't beat you with blazing speed anymore.

. Ruud was slow when he came to madrid. but becuz it was Van the Man, Speed is of no concern for him. Positioning > Speed every time. Ruud speed was average @ manutd.
