Future of Belgium NT
I feel recently there has been an emergence of talent from Belgium, they have young squad packet with loads of talent in the likes of:
I may have missed some players, sorry if so.
I could see them being a very formidable side in 2014/2018 WC, I'm hoping to see more of them in upcoming Euro.
Thoughts?
- Kompany
- Hazard
- Lukaku
- Dembele
- Fellani
- Vermaelen
- Thibaut Courtois
- Dedryck Boyata
- Toby Alderweireld
- Kevin De Bruyne
- Steven Defour

Mats Rits just moved to Ajax could also be added to that list although he's lesser known. They look nice on paper but Spain & Germany are proven at the youth level as far as European nations go. We'll see though Belgium haven't been relevant in so long. They have not qualified for a major tourny since 02'.

True to some extent, but some of these players: Hazard/Vermaelen/Kompany are top notch players at good clubs, look at Hazard last season, helped Lille to win ligue 1.
If they can gel and continue to grow I could see them mounting a serious threat, even if not to Spain/Ger they'll be right up their challenging.
Seems I forgot a few I was thinking of Vertonghen but couldn't remember the name.

Looks exciting squad but ultimately they will most likely come up short against the big teams like Spain Brazil Germany etc due to tournament inexperience.Similar to Serbia last year.Their squad looked great too but experience is key in world cup or Euros IMO.

Re: Future of Belgium NT
Belgium has stepped up the formation of their youth talent to a whole new level in a similar style as Germany, taking a strong inspiration for the Dutch.
You can just tell with the kind of CBs they are churning out, all ball playing CBs with great all around skills. It's a new generation of players.
But for them to succeed, their midfielders are going to have to step it up a notch.

Re: Future of Belgium NT
I'm hearing that Belgium will have great future squads since the Mpenza (was that their name?) brothers.
Perhaps they'll qualify for some big tournament (have they qualified for Euro 2012?). But I don't think they are good enough to do much.
