Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
1. We played shite for large parts of that game, conceded 2 goals. Entertaining though.
2. Fox commentators are hilarious. Speaking generally (not just this video), everything is either great or awful to them. Black and white with no shades of grey. As for their analysis... what analysis?
3. Most importantly: why is Seven Nation Army played in every stadium, in every Euro game after every goal? It's a great song, but surely they could change it up a little.

Wellington vs Sydney FC (KICKOFF 4:30, Sydney Time)
Lineups are confirmed... and ADP is fit and starting. Here is Sydney's team!
Sydney FC Team News vs WP.
Subs: Abbas, Yau, Ryall, Janjetovic.
Haven't seen Wellington yet.
Pumped! News is Antonis and ADP link very well. Excellent sign the best youngster we have is learning from the legend himself...
I'll try to find links if no foxtel!

42,000 at Etihad last night. Stunning atmosphere and the horrific defence of both sides made for a memorable night for all Heart fans. Had the finishing not been as poor as the defending, could have easily seen a 5-3 scoreline.
As for today, cannot wait to watch ADP in action in Aus. Not too long now before I see him in the flesh in Melb!!!

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Loved the Melbourne derby. Heart pressed and really made Victory quiet in peroids. When Victory were desperate, the passing game was far much more fluid and linkup play was good. Defenses of both teams were really crap.
Sydney today have been sloppy. Too many turnovers for my liking... The passing from defense to midfield has been sound though they give away possession cheaply through a sloppy pass or an unneccessary long ball. Del Piero has been no were in this match. Sydney are trying to play the passing game though they can't even pass it from the back without turning over the ball... Set pieces are literally today Syndeys hope at the moment. ADP putting in some dangerous ones.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Why the f*** is McFlyn still in this team? He is absolute garbage... brings nothing to the team, in fact he is bad at everything. Can't defend, can't pass (if he does its not on the carpet), can't read the game, always out of position.
We are losing the ball so much in bas positions.. so many turnovers... Most of them from McFlynn. God damn.
This McLenahan guy isn't much better. Reasonable defending but passing has been poor.
Mallia is also hopeless. Loses the ball almost every time he touches it. Always trying something tricky. No idea why Yau and Abbas aren't starting out wide.
Positives? ADP has been awesome... Looks so good on the ball... beautiful touch. Creating everything. I'd like to see him in an Iniesta like position. Quite a few moments of magic and good set piece delivery.
Fabio is a brilliant fullback. Maybe one of the best in the league. Rock solid and has looked excellent going forward.
Emmo at right-back also looking good.
Just need to keep the ball much better... simple passing, more movement, less retard sh#t from drongos like McFlynn.

ADP has had much of the ball though when he has, simply stunning. His first touch has been Pretty much will be relied to create chances as I can't see anyone else do so. McFylnn has been rubbish. Him and one of the central defenders has been terrible with their passing. Its embarrassing at times to look at how easy it is to place a pass to another player instead they give it cheaply IN A DANGEROUS POSITION . Emmo and Fabio have been great though they probably need to stay back more as I can see Phenoix gradually make chance after chance after this half.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
ADP hasn't been nowhere... He's been very good when on the ball and is doing everything for us in the final third (Fabio too).
We can quite easily get back in this... I would put Chianese up front and bring on Yau and Abbas for Lovrek and Mallia.
Would then bring on Ryall at RB and put Emerton in the middle.

Agree with the subs. I can see this as a draw to be honest if Sydney pick up their game... I haven't really seen ADP much as I would have liked to though his touches have indeed been great. Set pieces have been good as well. Agree about him playing in a more Iniesta role. Would be suited.

Oh great... Takes off our only decent CM in the whole club and leaves McFlynn and Mallia on the pitch. FFS...
Antonis wasn't great but still...
Abbas >> Antonis
Yau >> Lovrek.
Btw... new nickname for McFlynn and McLenahan. The 'McTurnovers'.

Wellington are creating chance after chance now. Soon enough they will get their second imo. The turnovers are really hurting us and the defenders are not doing their job. Everyone looks out of positioned except ADP atm in this second half.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
... Where do I start.
Positive? Del Piero was great, and kept trying all night. Super touch, great dribbling and killer passes.
Before I criticise.. gotta note a few things... Pretty much a completely new side, new coach and new style. Bosschaart, the best defender we have also missing. It's gonna take time, time to gel, time to understand ADP's genius etc.
However, I still think there were some poor selections. Abbas and Yau looked good after coming on.
Seb Ryall also must be kicking himself for staying... because if he doesn't get the nod over that fruit McLenahan when Boss is out he isn't going to get much time... I think he's one of the best young CBs in the league and he's actually excellent on the ball. If they want to play a ballplaying game... he needs to be playing.
Another thing... so many cheap losses of the ball and the passing... . The number of times a player did a crappy little turn and lost the ball... fml.
Now the burns...
McFlynn: Already said enough about this guy. Shouldn't be in the squad any more let alone the captain... Turns the ball over far too often... Not sure if he was at fault for both goals, but I presume he was. Almost all chances came through him.
Emerton: Looks in good nick.. Get him at CM already. Goddamn... Get McFlynn out of there pronto. Other options on the right.
Mallia: Do you think you're Messi? This guy reminds me of that kid at every club who thinks he's good, buys all the gear but is just rubbish. I can't remember him beating his man once. Always trying to be fancy, always failing.
Chianese: The very definition of the Walcott-type player. Lighting fast and energetic which gets him into some good positions, but his finishing is so bad. Really doesn't do much more than run. May as well sign a sprinter.
Lovrek: Doesn't mesh well with Lovrek... they both think they're #10s.
My changes:

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Victory simply got outplayed. They tried the passing game but like Sydney they kept turning over in the middle of the park and the Roar got onto the counter and took most of their chances (unlike Phenoix...). There were alot of Victory fans at the derby last week though probably won't be until Ange sorts them out. It must be frustating being a Victory fan...

I have no sympathy for the Victory bar Ange. He's a good coach working with what is, for the most part, a tactically backwards group of coaches and thuggish Muscat-esque players.
