Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Leave it to goal.com, to take that interview, and write a headline such as this:
Ronaldo" I'm not friends with Messi".
Ronaldo" I'm not friends with Messi".

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
"If I could, I'd vote for myself," he said in an interview with France Football.
"I am what I am and I'm happy with that. Being too humble isn't good. In Portugal we say that too much humility is vanity."
Ronaldo's situation at Los Blancos remains uncertain after he voiced his unhappiness in the Spanish capital back in September, but he has rubbished reports that the problem is down to financial reasons.
"I play for the passion of football, and for the love of the teams I represent. If I was playing for money, I'd be at another club," he stated.
"All players love it when teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United or Chelsea dream about them, but that's not in my thoughts."

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has stated his happiness at the club and believes coach Jose Mourinho will remain in charge.
Mourinho has been in the papers for all the wrong reasons this season and his future has been thrown into doubt after a number of strange decisions have led to Madrid dropping 16 points behind league leaders Barcelona.
However, Ronaldo feels his compatriot is not ready to quit and is the right man for the club before touching on the decision to drop Iker Casillas.
“I do not know. It depends on his situation and the club. I would love him to stay because he is the right coach. He is a top coach for a top club. I think he is going to stay but everyone chooses their future,” he told a press conference on Wednesday.
“For me, in football, nothing surprises me,” he continued. “His [Casillas'] replacement was a technical decision that we must respect. Here the coach is the boss and he makes decisions for the benefit of the group.“
The former Manchester United stat then touched on his own future and stated that is happy at the club.
“That issue has already been spoken about. I will not talk any more about my renewal,” the former Manchester United attacker added.
“The important thing is to win the next matches. We are fighting for La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. The important thing is being together.
“I intend to repay [my fans] in the best possible way, which is to play well, to give my best for the shirt and to be on top of my game to help Real Madrid.”

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has apologised to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho for a bust up following the Copa del Rey win over Valencia last Tuesday.
Mourinho reportedly attacked Ronaldo for not putting in 100% in the closing stages of Madrid’s 2-0 win over Los Che which saw the two exchange angry words.
The lead to Spanish reports that Ronaldo was on the verge of following Iker Casillas and being dropped from the league meeting with Valencia but he started and scored two goals.
“I want to talk about what happened on Tuesday with our coach, I want to apologise.
“We have to pull together and go forward. I ask for unity and hard work. We still have things to win.”

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is excited about facing his former team Manchester United next week but admits he feels Real Madrid are the better team.
The Portuguese winger became the most expensive player when he swapped United for Real Madrid in 2009 and he believes the Spanish champions are a stronger team on paper.
“I believe things will go well,” he told Champions magazine. “In my opinion Real Madrid have a better team, although we have to show that on the pitch because United are a very united team and always have been in recent years.”
Ronaldo admitted that he expected his return to Old Trafford to be an emotional one.
“I have wanted to face United for some time because I have great memories of my time there,” he added.
“Sir Alex taught me the basis of football. I arrived in Manchester when I was only 18. He managed my career in the best possible way, and for me he is one of the most important people in football.
“I still have an excellent relationship with him and it will be nice to see him again. It will be a match in which I will feel a lot. I was there for six years and I have a lot of friends. It will be a match with a lot of emotion.”

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed there was an issue between him and head coach Jose Mourinho, but it has now been resolved.
In September 2012, Ronaldo had explained to the press he was "sad" at Santiago Bernabeu, which caused speculation to mount about his future with the Liga club.
However, the Portugal international insists his troublesome period with the former Chelsea coach is in the past, and admitted he is unsure how long Mourinho will remain in charge at Madrid.
He told AS: "I don't know, I think he'll stay on at least until the end of the season, because he is a coach who always wants to win and we still have some challenges left.
"After that he will decide what is best for him, for the players and the club. But I don't know what he or the club thinks.
"It's a very personal issue [what happened with Mourinho], but it's been resolved now and everything is fine. What happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room."
Iker Casillas’ girlfriend Sara Carbonero has claimed the Madrid dressing room had a difficult relationship with Mourinho, but Ronaldo refused to go into detail about what might be going on behind the scenes at Los Blancos.
"There are some things I am not fit to talk about but it's a delicate situation and I don't think it was the right thing to do," he said.
"However, people are free to say what they want even though I think that it was not good, because the business of the dressing room should stay in the dressing room and if you know something you shouldn't report it."

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
The full interview in English credit to AS and @RMadridGirl
- Spoiler:
- Ease the worries of the Madrid support: will your injury prevent you from being at your best against Manchester United next Wednesday?
Everything's fine now. I had a muscle strain on my leg, but now I'm much better. I'll be ready to play against Sevilla and Manchester United.
Today (Monday) you turn 28 years old. What present would you like for the future?
The first present I would ask for is the tenth European Cup, it would be something very special for Real Madrid after so many years of not winning it, and it would be special for me too. The Champions League is the best competition for any player and I am dreaming about winning it this year. I have played professional football for 10 years and I'm proud of what I've achieved, but I still have many challenges ahead. We are going all out to win the Copa del Rey and the league this season, because we know the league will be very difficult.
Ryan Giggs is still playing for Manchester United at 39 years old. You are now 28 and you have an incredible level of fitness. How many more years do you think you have left in elite football?
That's a difficult question to answer, because although I want to play for another ten years, I don't know if I will still be playing when I'm 38. I want to keep playing for many years and I will do it if I feel right, both physically and psychologically. I will work hard to achieve that because I have good genetics. I shouldn't have any problems doing that. They say that after 32 or 33 your genetics change and you change the way you play - you become slower, but you are more experienced. I'm just trying to enjoy my football at the moment, it's a great time for me.
People are now calling you the new Di Stefano. Do you like that tag?
I'm very proud to be compared to one of the greats in the history of Real Madrid, and in the history of football. It's an honour to be mentioned alongside these great names but I am more concerned about keeping working so I can help this club get bigger every day. I don't think about comparisons or records because it's not good for you. What is true is that I always try to please people with my performances. I want to leave my mark on the history of Real Madrid and I will only achieve that if I keep defending this club to the best of my capabilities.
There is now an unbreakable bond between you and the Bernabéu, what has changed?
I'm very happy with the situation. I'm flatted by the endearment I get from the people in the stadium and on the street. I'm very proud to see people supporting me, because they have realised that Cristiano is always the same. I never shy away from challenges, I face them head on. I always give my all and now the fans have realised that. The Bernabéu appreciates me, and sees me as one of their own, like a homegrown player. It motivates me even more when I see the fans supporting me in every game, whether I score goals or not.
On the subject of goals, you have scored 100 goals at the Bernabéu in just 87 games. Di Stefano had the same record. What goes through your head when the Bernabéu sings your name unanimously?
It's a dream come true. When I signed for Madrid in 2009 that was one of my wishes and the things I wanted the most when I stepped on the Bernabeu pitch for the first time. Now the fans have seen me and realised that I will defend this club with body and spirit until the death. I feel very happy with the support I receive from the fans, I know that they love me and it makes me feel good inside. The first time the fans sung my name I went home with the feeling I had fulfilled my dream, because I've always tried to give everything for this club.
When you arrived in Spain three years ago people saw you as a handsome rich bo, as you called yourself after the game in Zagreb. What has changed in you so that people now view you in a different way?
I've always been the same person, but the people didn't have the chance to know me. But now little by little they are seeing who I am and I have realised they are more affectionate towards me. I haven't changed my ways, although there are some things you can always improve at. But my personality has always been the same. I've always defended Madrid as much as possible and now people have taken note of this and forgotten about the other less important aspects. Now I'm very happy that they value me so much, but I'm not surprised because I've always been the same and the people didn't value me as much as they do now.
You have been the victim of fierce challenges and have been dealt some scars by opposition players. Did David Navarro ever call you to say sorry for the terrible elbow in the match against Levante?
No, he didn't say anything to me. But I don't want to talk too much about this subject but anyone who strikes me and gives me a scar above the eyebrow which needs six stitches deserves a strong punishment. But nothing happened here, they didn't even give a foul. It's a shame, it's not a good example for children to see.
This season it seems that, fortunately, chants such as "This Portuguese, what a prick he is" and "Cristiano, please die" are being heard less and less. Are you aware of that? What do you put it down to?
It's true, I have realised that people are insulting me less and less in stadiums. I can't please everyone - God didn't manage that, so I can't do it either. It's not good for children to hear the things they sing in stadiums. It's just a football match and people should be going to a football stadium to enjoy the spectacle and not insult or threaten the players.
Five months ago you said that after speaking with Florentino Perez before the game with Granada you were sad. Has anything changed since then?
Yes, things have changed because I'm doing what I like, which is playing football, and I'm feeling great on the pitch and with my team-mates. Perhaps I have also changed my mindset. Right now I feel better than back then.
The fans think that, aside from winning the tenth European Cup, the most important issue facing the club is agreeing a new contract with you. How is that going?
I won't speak about that, because right now for me the most important thing is winning the tenth European Cup and the Copa del Rey for Real Madrid. I don't want to talk about my new contract and it doesn't worry me at the moment.
Is it true that the money in your new contract is not an issue? You are a professional after all.
Right now I only care about the team and we can talk [about the contract] at the end of the season. I swear on my son's life that my sadness had nothing to do with money.
After the worrying news that has come out about doping, do you think there is doping in football?
It's a very delicate situation. I don't think there is doping in football. It's a collective sport and I don't think it's necessary to resort to doping to improve your performances. But I can't swear that no-one has done it.
So football is a clean sport?
Yes, 100%. I don't think these types of things exist.
Q: In January 2008, your mother said that she did not want to die until seeing his son playing for Real Madrid. Were you such a Real Madrid fan?
A: Yes. When I left Manchester, there were other big teams that wanted me. But since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to play for Real Madrid. And I didn’t stop until I achieved it. The Bernabeu full with 90 thousand people in my presentation impacted me. I will never forget it.
Q: The Bernabeu has already chanted many times this year “Ballon D’Or, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ballon D’Or”. Many people thought you deserved it this year.
A: I have the hope to win it after the amazing season accomplished by Madrid and I. But unfortunately it was not that way. But I can’t live off of individual awards or else I’d never be happy. That’s why I try to be happy in Madrid, play better day after day, help my team and be happy with the fans.
Q: Were you surprised when Messi did not mention you in his speech?
A: I wasn’t surprised. He didn’t vote me in his top three so I repeat, I can’t be surprised.
Q: What did you think about Mou not attending the Gala?
A: I respect his decision very much, it was his choice. I think he very well knew what was going to happen. Perhaps he is smarter than everyone else. I knew as much as he did what was going to happen, so I understand him. Nonetheless, individual awards do not give me anything, I only think about the collective awards for Madrid and Portugal.
Q: You have amazing numbers when it comes to scoring goals but Benzema and Higuain way below their level shown last year. What is happening with them?
A: It’s a matter of self pride, of the overall performance of the team, the topic is very complex. They are both very good and they can’t always play so it’s complicated. It’d me like me not always playing because I had a great player in my same position. They are top forwards. Very good forwards. But it is also a tough choice for Mourinho who must choose who plays. The mister has a tough job. I see them well and I am sure they will help us win the Copa and the Champions.
Q: Are they affected and do they feel less to have someone like you next to them who scores 60 goals per season?
A: You can’t see how much a player is worth just based on his goals. Pipita and Benzema have worked a lot to help the team. I don’t value them based on how many goals they score. There are players like Xabi Alonso, Ozil or Khedira that are extremely good but score very few goals. Only together and united we can win something.
Q: In the nice side of the coin now there is Varane. You always said good things about him.
A: Varane is learning a lot, he is growing as a player and as a person and I am sure he will be a TOP central back. He is fast, he jumps high and he is very solid in the back. He is gaining experience despite his young age. He is humble, and to me, in just a few years he will be one of the best central backs in the world. I have no doubt about that.
Q: What is Mourinho going to do at the end of the season? Does the team know it yet?
A: I don’t know. I think at least he will stay until the end of the season because he is a coach that always wants to win and we have many achievable goals. He will then decide what’s best for him, his professional group and the team. But I don’t know what he thinks or what the team thinks so I don’t want to talk about it.
Q: What happened between you and Mourinho? Where you surprised by his attitude towards you? The fans were.
A: It is a very personal topic, that is already solved and everything is okay. THE THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN THE DRESSING ROOM STAY IN THE DRESSING ROOM.
*cough*
Q: This upcoming week you get to play your former team, Manchester United. What are your feelings about it?
A: It will be special because people know I played in Manchester for 6 years and I appreciate them. But a game is a game, I’m not going to war, I’m going to play and try to help my team defeat them. We all have to give our all if we want to stay alive in Champions. I am preparing myself to be at my best in this round.
Q: Nani and Anderson are there and they are good friends of yours…
A: Yes, I’ve already talked to Nani here and we’ve made jokes about it. But nothing special. It will be a great European duel and I won’t forget that the best team in England will be playing against us.
Q: What do you expect of your re-encounter with Alex Ferguson?
A: I have a very good relationship with Alex Ferguson and it will be a very good moment for him and me to see each other again. It will also be special to meet the Old Trafford fans again that have always treated me with love. I like them a lot.
Q: You arrived later on but you must have heard about the historic games Madrid played there with that play by Redondo and Ronaldo’s hattrick.
A: Yes, they’ve told me. Those are great games for the fans. I am sure this round will also leave us great plays and goals to remember. They will be two very tough games and I don’t forget that the second leg will be at Old Trafford, a beautiful stadium with beautiful fans that will cheer on their team.
Q: Is Madrid the favourite?
A: You can’t say that in a match up between such big teams. I think we’re a better side but now we have to prove it on the pitch.
Q: Two key players are still missing, Pepe and Casillas. The first one will come back soon but the captain will be long. How do you rate his absence?
A: We miss Pepe a lot because he is a key defender for us but this squad has a lot of players that are very talented. Pepe will be back shortly and will be like a new “signing” that will motivate and cheer up the team.
Q: And Iker’s injury?
A: It is a very important loss for the team but the club has signed Diego Lopez, who is a great keeper and he will also do a great job.
Q: Were you surprised by what Sara Carbonero, Iker’s girlfriend, said about a supposedly complicated situation that the dressing room is experiencing with Mourinho?
A: There are things that I am not responsible for talking about but this is a delicate topic and I think it is something that shouldn’t be done. Nonetheless, people are free to say whatever they want although I think she was wrong in doing what she did because the issues that happen in the dressing room have to stay in the dressing room and the things that you may know shouldn’t be told to the press. But I repeat, everyone is free to express themselves however they want and say whatever they’d like.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is already a Real legend
http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satellite/en/Actualidad/1193040487639/1330136783043/noticia/Noticia/Cristiano_Ronaldo_is_already_a_Real_legend.htm
Real has a new name to add to its historic list of top-scorers. Gento, Pirri, Butragueño and Amancio welcome their best student: Cristiano Ronaldo. Which they have, at a place that’s full of mystique: the Real Madrid dressing room. The Portuguese player is the latest member of the club to become a legend is his own time, making the list of the top ten players who have scored the most goals for the Whites. He’s reached this record like only a forward can, with ambition and the predatory instinct to break all possible records. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo is the player with the best numbers on the over 110-year old ranking; the bar is set so high that almost half a century has passed before a player with this kind of talent has been seen on the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu. Only Puskas, who scored 242 goals in 261 matches (an average of 0.93 goals per game), has come even close to the Portuguese international’s numbers.
Amancio has witnessed how Pirri, Santillana, Butragueño, Hugo Sánchez, Raúl and now Cristiano Ronaldo have progressively beaten his record. Today the player closes the historic list of top-scorers and is proud to still be in the top ten: “Remembering it and seeing your name together with those nine players is always good, but seeing the current trajectory of the players you realize that with the goals you’ve scored you’re on the list for just a little while”. Amancio refers mainly to Cristiano Ronaldo, who he has no doubt will continue to rise through the ranks to reach the top spot: “The goals that he’s scored so far, and that we hope he keeps scoring, in just the short time that he’s been a part of this club, is clear evidence that he’s a wonderful player with incredible power. At the rate he’s going he’ll beat all the records and could even surpass Alfredo Di Stéfano”, he said.
Butragueño: "We’re extremely proud that Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Real. He’s an amazing player and I hope he stays that way for years because he’s very important to us”, Butragueño nods. From his privileged ninth-place top-scorer position the player that gave the name to Real’s most successful La Quinta praised the Whites’ striker: “Cristiano Ronaldo is amazing. We’re extremely proud that he plays for Real. His ambition is perhaps one of his greatest virtues. He wants to get better and he takes each game as if it’s a personal challenge. Having a player that guarantees a goal per game is a problem for rivals because it means that they have to score two to win. Very few teams throughout history can claim the same. I hope he stays that way for years because he’s very important to us”.
Pirri comes in eighth on the list and is the only player who won his spot from a position not traditionally related to scoring. Only one defender has made the list: skill, sacrifice and dedication to the club make that player Pirri. “I was never a forward. I started as a defensive midfielder and later I played defense. Sharing a part of Real’s history along with these great players and to be one of the club’s ten top-scorers is an honor and a joy”. Pirri knows that if we analyze the list of qualities needed in a forward Cristiano Ronaldo passes all tests with flying colors: “He’s a fantastic player. Not only is he a born striker with both feet but for me he’s also the most complete player in the world. He’s powerful, fast, vertical, he jumps high for headers, he’s got a great strike and an enormous ability on the sides, he works hard, defends…”. With all these characteristics it was inevitable that sooner or later Cristiano Ronaldo would make it on this list; the surprising part is how quickly it happened.
Gento: “Watching Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch is a delight. He’s a unique player that will mark a period with all of the goals he’s scoring. I would have loved to have played with him". Gento rounds out the list of players that gave Cristiano Ronaldo his welcome onto the top-scorers list. "Quite an honor coming from the only player to have won six European Cups", remarked the Portuguese player. Gento’s passage through Real Madrid left an indelible mark on the club, so much so that he was part of the unforgettable offense with Di Stéfano, Puskas, Kopa and Rial and has won more than 20 titles with the club: "Having spent 18 years at Real Madrid and having won 23 titles is very important to me. It’s always nice to be able to tell my children and grandchildren that I’m a part of the club’s goals-scoring legend”. There are many similarities between Gento and Cristiano Ronaldo: both play vertically, they’re quick, they have great skills on the sides and an innate eye for the goal: “Watching Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch is a delight. He’s a unique player that will mark a period with all of the goals he’s scoring. I would have loved to have played with him".
Cristiano Ronaldo knows that this is a unique, inimitable experience. The Portuguese player has never hidden the passion he’s had for Real since he was a child and he now finds himself on the same list as four historical Real Madrid idols. The smile that never left his face gave him away: “It’s an honor to be one of these legendary scorers and to be one of the top-scorers. To make this list in the short time I’ve been with the club, to see my name associated with these players is a reason to be proud, motivated and happy”. Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t miss any details, checking out the lockers of his “new teammates” and even joked with Gento when he took a look at the ball he used to play in his “La Galerna del Cantábrico” matches. “I scored 300 goals with this ball”, he said. Gento gave a good comeback: “But when it was wet it weighed 100 kilos”!

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Glad he is getting some love from our legends. You deserve it Cristiano and I hope you keep it up
Seeing Pirri say those things about him made me smile. When he says you're good then you know you are.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo insists he would never join Manchester City because his "heart" remains at Old Trafford.
The Portugal international faces his former club for the first time on Wednesday evening as Jose Mourinho's side host Sir Alex Ferguson's men at the Bernabeu in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Earlier this season, speculation grew over the 28-year-old's future in Spain after he claimed he was unhappy and although City have long been monitoring Ronaldo's situation, as revealed by Goal.com last March, the Madrid ace has ruled out a future move to United's arch rivals.
"To play for City not United? I’m not going to do that. Why? Because my heart’s in Manchester United, that’s why," Ronaldo told The Sun.
"I can say it would be very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very difficult to play at Manchester City. Very difficult because of Manchester United."
Ronaldo has reiterated his desire to remain with the Spanish champions beyond the end of the season but also hints that he would be open to a return to Old Trafford in the future.
"I am a player of Real Madrid and I’m happy here, my family is happy and everything is going well for me here. The future? I don’t know — only God knows the future," Ronaldo said.
"I can’t say I’m never going back to Man United — but I can say I’m good here and I want to be here.
"Let’s leave it at that and see what God gives me in the future — but I repeat I am happy here at Madrid."

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
As Real Madrid traveled ahead of their match at Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo was apparently given the chance to put on a pilot's cap and sit in the cockpit of the plane. He posted the photo above on his Facebook page with the caption "pilot for a few hours."

Ronaldo
I did my job - helping Real Madrid to win - and I`m very happy, but it`s a strange feeling. It was the sensation of wanting to do something but not being able to.
