Re: Los Descartados
Latest word is that Palermo are trying to hijack the deal. We're holding back from closing the deal because we're still looking at other options.

Gago is a good player,he offers very good distribution of pass,OK defensively and meh when pressured by midfield.
Re: Los Descartados
Pedro leon is gone to getafe on loan, with obligation to buy next season for 5-6M.
phew, ciao.

If we do end up getting Pjanic, which seems very close now, Gago will simply be a substitute for De Rossi. As a sub, I think he'll be ok. I'm not entirely convinced by Gago (I was crying out for Fernando or Montolivo, both different types of players but still very good), but I guess he'll make a good back-up.

Re: Los Descartados
Why on loan? They should buy him if they want him. Real Madrid are no charity organization for other clubs. if people don't want to buy Gago and Lass we could use them in other ways CM area isn't filled with quality depth right now regarding the injury situation

Option to buy. If he turns out useful, we'll buy him next year. We've already spent quite a bit of money by our standards this summer, at this point it seems like it's a loan or nothing.

Gago going to Palermo, i dont know what changed, but if i had to guess, he has a starting spot with Palermo, while it wouldnt have been so sure with Roma.

Mexes kept holding off and holding off to get a new contract. In fact, he made it clear last summer that he would like to stay at Roma. The ineptitude of Roma and the fact they wouldn't give him a 5-6 million wages he wanted all along caused him to look elsewhere. He loved Roma and didn't want to leave. But even worse... how could you let him go for free lol!!! At least sell him from a business standpoint instead of letting him walk on a free transfer. Just stupidity there.
About Mexes, don't be fooled by how it turned out in the end. That's one thing that Roma's previous management cannot be blamed for, nor can the current one be blamed for it. Rosella Sensi (old management), wanted to resign Mexes. She even told Mexes that she would not let him go because he was "a member of the family" and that she would never get rid of a family member, something that really moved him. Bt before she was able to offer him a contract, Unicredit took control of the team as they took over ItalPetroli, our owners. Sensi was still around, but she had no power whatsoever. She tried to convince Unicredit to offer Mexes a contract, but they were not willing to make such a commitment (a stupid move imo). Milan then came a long and offered him the money that Unicredit weren't willing to dish out, so he signed with them. When our new owners and new management came around, Mexes unfortunately was already long gone. It was stupid to let him go, yes, but it was Unicredit who let him go, not anyone involved with Roma's management.
Nothing to be fooled about. I followed the Mexes situation closely. Roma management were pure clowns... the money excuse didn't go over well with Mexes since the "fat one" was signed and paid more than he was asking for. He felt that things were misrepresented and decided it was time to go.

Splendid news on Leon, he was doing more harm than good trying to stay with us.
On Gago, it was only a matter of time. We'll see if his injury woes continue or not.

Re: Los Descartados
Now on to Lass, very curious how it will end up, knowing that if he stays, he goes on a free next summer. we would be gifting another player to AC milan.
i thought all he did last week was a way to either get more money from tottenham, or get the transfer fee down on deadline for wherever he wants to go.
But mou said he wouldnt mind keeping him, meaning the club might be ready to keep him, if the money offered is too low.

Adit wrote:Europone, hows your midfield shaping up at the moment if you dont mind?
It hasn't changed all that much from last season. We have Viviani who's a very promising player coming up from our youth system. The rest is so far unchanged despite us being linked to quite a few midfielders. At this very moment we have De Rossi, Perrotta, Pizarro, Greco, Viviani, Simplicio and Brighi, though the last two may leave today. Taddei and Lamela could also adapt to playing in our midfield, though Taddei is currently being favored as a full back and Lamela as an attacker.

Actually no, it's Real Madrid's problem if you can't sell him outright. If the teams interested in him want him on loan, then there isn't much that could be done about that. And like I said, if we loan him and he does well, then it's more than likely that we'll use our option to buy him.

But our management was not able to offer him a contract. Their hands were tied. The Adriano deal came before that. We desperately needed a striker and took a gamble on "the fat one". But that has absolutely nothing to do with Mexes leaving. Sensi was trying to get the renewal done all year, up to the day where she was officially removed from her post. She was ready to offer Mexes a raise, but once again, was not given the go ahead from Unicredit. It's easy to say that Adriano was given a lot of money and Mexes wasn't happy about it, but really the problem was more complex and unrelated to that.

Re: Los Descartados
The important thing for Real Madrid fans here is not how well Gago will do if he leaves us, but rather that he will be gone.

Re: Los Descartados
Probably worth more to us than the measly transfer fee we would get if he helps us win a few games...
He allows us to rest some of the midfielders during easier games and muscle up when we need to.
