I doubt it's the actual quote. Knowing how these journalists phrase these things, the conversation probably went something like this:

N knowing so importantly how when u disrupt a well balanced midfield, the resulting effect most definitely will be downgrade in level in games for Real? We were bound to move on from this legendary midfield someday. They didn't have the legs to play together and needed to be broken up. We squeezed the last juice out of them in the CL run last season. The only way you could break it up was if one retired/departed. We preferred playing Valverde out of position instead of phasing on of them out and it made it unnecessary harder against physical teams
