Where will Messi go?
Re: Lionel Messi Transfer Speculation
Donkeys behind him to run for him. Pace merchants as wingers to run ahead of him. Firmino upgrade at F9.
Can't say he's the ideal player for Klopp and Liverpool though. The guy would need to be subbed off after 20 minutes of gegenpressing oh my days.

200mil euros + Bernardo should do it
City will be elevated by having a legend in the squad and Barca will be financially relieved. every1 wins

Probably 150 mil and Bernardo
I just realized City have Mahrez, Silva and Torres who all play on the right. Surely either Mahrez or Silva will get the axe if Messi goes to City

Even if he was free, the wages of Lionel Messi makes an arrival at PSG "impossible" according to the club.

Let's enjoy Messi's last season at the club, he probably wont renew his deal at this pace. His last season at barca and no fans in the stands, sad

It is only right the Messiah plays for a stint in the GOAT league while he still has fairly good legs under him.

Sources from La Liga believe that Barcelona is right. The extension of the league due to covid does not impact work contracts. If there is no agreement between the club and player, FIFA will allow a provisional transfer, but if Barca lodge a complaint in a Barcelona court or TAS, they will win. The club insists that Messi has not activated his release clause and are asking him to rethink his decision. The club can't accept that he leaves for free. That would create an economic loss to the club that a Socio can sue the club (Barto) for

only if they want to treat their greatest player of all time like that. Messi would be sour. Barcelona want to sell away all his best mates in the squad. The dressing room would be sour.
So yea, i dont think the board really want that. It would be a completely wasted year. Why delay your rebuild for one more year.

Re: Lionel Messi Transfer Speculation
the situation is already sour. Barto and this board also don’t want to be remembered for causing Messi to leave Barca. Their strategy now is to say he left when his contract ended or we received the biggest transfer fee ever for him. This has become a matter of pride and there is not a single person in Barcelona thinking « sheesh we can rebuild faster if Messi leaves now » lmao. Whether you are pro Barto or not, Messi leaving is not something you want, period.El Gunner wrote:Mr Nick09 wrote:No it's not simple logic. ..and in that contract states he can leave for free on the 10th of june, each season. The legal discussion now is: with what intent was 10th of june put there? Is it because its * days after a final? Is it because its * days before the end of the season? Or is it what Barca considers the end of the season? If they can clear the air and acknowledge why that specific date is there than the claim can be made that under the current circumstances the date should be *. As of now, different claims have been seen. If the intent of the date was 'end of the season' then Messi has a claim to invoke the contract; apparently Barca signed a FIFA contract agreeing to the extension of the season. FIFA acknowledged that the season has not ended by that date, because of COVID.
There is also a claim that Messi has sent the burofax 3 days before the Bayern match - not confirmed, but it would make things more interesting.

Re: Lionel Messi Transfer Speculation
With Messi gone, Fartomeu and his crew will be gone too. This would be a complete restart for the club, and one I would argue Barça direly needs more than they need Messi right now, especially with the cash flow problems the club are dealing with at the moment.
If Messi is convinced to stay, it should be for a good reason. If he wants to leave because his amigos are being pushed out of the club, so be it. No player should be bigger than the club. Not even Messi.

If the date is hard coded, and there is nothing in the contract setting out the intention of the date, then arguing about why it was chosen is a fool's errand. If the intention was to choose a date following the end of a season, it's very easy to create the concept in the wording and have reference to that concept. Contracts usually also include wording that the document itself contains the full extent of the agreement between the parties, so an appeal to discussions and negotiations will also end in the same place.

Then we can start building a modern, physical team where everyone presses, leave the stone age behind. Maybe look at La Masia again for new talent instead of ignoring it and letting promising youngsters leave for other clubs.

Barca is in major overhaul and i do not expect any titles or anything in next 1-2 seasons. That is 1-2 season too much for Messi at his age. It would do good to both Barca and Messi if he leaves. I just hope we get some money in return.

Not ideal but negative net spend. Not a bad line up for a transition season. More importantly, no Fartomeu.Myesyats wrote:I would be happy with 150M+Bernardo.
