The problem is owners injecting unlimited amounts without any oversight and through fake companies being run out of a mailbox. Source of money being oil is not a crime in itself, just have some transparency and oversight (and limits) with regards to the funding

Yea not sure if it would be that bad, since no one can compete with Man C as it is, as hard as LFC have pushed them, its just so hard. If an even richer oil comes in willing to splash out on big signings, n give even more to Klopp to work with

Let's get it straight, we're we ever great ? ... I think we were just there somehow finishing 2nd, losing title by 1 point, reaching 4 European finals and winning one of them, last season in the race for 4 trophies till the end. Not sure why opposition fans keep saying that Liverpool were great in past few years at all. It is the most frustrating club with a very frustrating manager, playing crap and winning nothing in last few years.

We're 100% in a transition period. Unfortunately FSG was never interested in sustained success (like they've proven with RedSox elsewhere) so we didn't take advantage of building from a position of strength to remain amongst the other big boys exponentially. The best players in this group are aging, declining, and are on the wrong side of 30. They wrote off 20/21 because of lack of investment. Unfortunately it seems another season has been written off. The like of Alisson, Thiago, Van Dijk, Salah are going to start or keep declining due to age so our problems are going to exacerbate even further.

The specific problem this season is the midfield. 13 year kids on twitter were able to pin point the deficiencies in the summer but the club (and Klopp included) were too busy patting themselves on the back and living in denial instead of addressing them. Milner and Henderson playing for Liverpool in 2023 is an insult to humanity.

Even still, I think the current team really only needs that midfield fix to be able to compete in the short term (2nd half of this season & for 23/24).

And by the midfield fix, I mean other than Thiago completely re-haul the entire group because they are straight garbage. Milner & Henderson should be taken out back and executed. Ox and Keita are professional hospital patients who sometimes happen to play football and their contracts running out at the end of the season is ray of sunshine sent from the gods. Curtis Jones is a make a wish foundation kid who is not good enough for the premier league. Fabinho has regressed so much physically from last season he looks like a geriatric.

Harvey Elliot and Carvalho are young so I don't count them amongst the rest. They have some talent but it remains to be seen whether they can actually play in midfield or wide positions/#10 roles are their best positions.

We really need like 3+ young physically capable midfielders. I suspect we'll be in for at least 3 of these of names in the next two windows (Bellingham, Rice, Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo, Barella). Whether we sign any of them from the hole we dug ourselves remains to be seen as everyone and their cats will be in for them.

After the end of the last season, I had said that this season will be a bad season for us. When some other fans here didn't like it and sounded like excuses because we had spent big on Nunez. I tried to tell that losing Mane was a big issue and our midified was not 100% functional the way it should be even in last season. Our midfield was the reason that lost ground on City last season.
Knowing Klopp's Liverpool so well, we will be back next season if we sign a good midfielder aka replacement for Gini. Fabinho will be back to his best next season, in general all Liverpool players need one summer to relax a bit. It is not easy to play in Klopps very physically demanding system and perform every season.

So Gini was not a bad player when he came to Liverpool. Klopp kind of improved him but at the same time also shunted some of his skills. That is how he managed to get maximum out of him and it worked perfectly, he was the only press resistant midfield player we had under Klopp so far apart from Thiago. But Thiago neither has fitness nor can keep the ball long enough like Gini. With Gini it was easier to control games but he was not creative like Thiago. Thiago for all his brilliant skills, can't last full 90 minutes every 3 days of a game. Keita was supposed to replace Gini in the long term but he never lasted even 10 games without injuries.

We had to sell Gini because financially we were still evolving and couldn't pay Gini what he wanted. It would have been fair to pay him but he was almost 30 at that time.

We got away playing the same 11 for almost 3 years. It has caught up and poor recruitment means the players who have lost their legs still start at key positions. The squad is at the end of an era not Klopp. You cannot hit 7+ goals easily multiple times in a season if everything is falling apart.

We've just run an 18 year old into the ground and he's going to miss the rest of the season while we have 2 players sitting on the bench and running out their contract costing 80m for the same position. It's just horrendous squad management. Does not help that the players brought in to improve the squad and help the transition: Konate, Jota, Diaz, Thiago combined have probably missed 150 games across the time they have been here. The others are too young to make an instant impact.

He failed to qualify for CL. Big season next season.

yes baby it is happening, at least good news after getting to know about Klopp's departure - bad news for opposition fans, we will be there around you to irritate the hell out of you by competing for all the possible trophies.

Edwards is the same guy with whom the Kopp's era began. FSG managed to get him back. I am sure we will get some good manager IN after Klopp
