I think he’s similar to Dembele in that they both have a lot of raw talent, but they also both have poor decision-making and are prone to needlessly losing possession of the ball. At least, Dembele has confidence. I don’t see any of it in Joao. He was gifted the biggest chance of the match tonight, and all he could make of it was a weak shot into the hands of Courtois.

Yeah, Spanish super cup final. It went to extra time with a 0-0 scoreline, then a penalty shootout where RM won. It wasn’t an entertaining match at all, but Courtois had a very good performance. Expect to hear about how great he is over the next few days, as if his poor displays since signing him never happened

It's a tough first season for Felix but I think, once given time, would continuously get better. The "given time" part is not something I can see happening though, not at Atletico anyway.

I think his price tag will gift him the time he needs, they kinda need him to work out

but it sounds like he simply moved to a big big club too soon

Has any team had more high-priced flops/relative disappointments than Atletico? Joao Felix, Lemar, Diego Costa 2.0, Jackson Martinez, and even Morata to a lesser extent.

By the way I think Joao Felix will eventually come good. As Frenzy says , his hefty price tag would mean that Atleti will somehow try to make this work. Too early to label him as a flop imo.

If Felix is to work out they'd need to let Simeone go because hw doesn't have the fight Simeone expects from his team. Far too tame to do well under Simeone

Nobody dislikes Marcelo, we all recognise that he is over the hill more or less but he is loved by all madridistas

The booing/whistling came from a series of shit passes and plays from various Madrid players. Wasn't directed at any specific individual, just the crowd venting their frustration at what was happening.

Marcelo wasn't booed when he came off but he did look upset to come off which is a whole other topic.
