But he isn't a midfielder for a pivot. Playing Zaniolo at AM and pushing Pellegrini into the pivot is what wasn't working. Roma was better off playing Zaniolo on the right, Pellegrini at AM, and a proper double pivot, which worked much better. McLweis said it before too, how much Roma's goalscoring threat increases with him on the field. Definitely their best choice for AM, with the injury and everything he is already on 9 assists plus the overall involvement.

Since Fonseca stuck to that setup Roma looked much better.

Regarding Pellegrini, there's been a fair amount of grumbling about his form over the last couple of games from Romanisti, but that's normal. He didn't look great against Juve, but I prefer him in the XI than out of it. I chalk up his performance against Juve as Sarri and Co doing their homework on him and limiting his time on the ball. Juve do this very well and are among the best clubs in this regard.

When he gets time on the ball and space to work, Pellegrini is a superb creator. Juve limited both and unsurprisingly, he struggled. Doesn't really change my opinion on him. If anything, it underscores his importance to this team. He and we will be fine.

The real challenge for Fonseca is figuring out how to keep him effective in this team when opponents are beginning to target him as the nucleus of our attack.

Chiellini and Demiral now, can't catch a break with these injuries. He was doing so well, looked like a fix starter.

I think it has to do with have played on same pitch the day after. (Lazio had played on Saturday)

Rules say you have to wait 48 hours at least from a match to another match.

Made an exception because Olimpico must be ready asap because of Euro 2020

We must also consider that Olimpico is a bad pitch even in normal conditions, let alone for 2 matches in two days

State of Italian football : the Capital City has just a stadium for the football in 2020.

So as to get ready for Italy - Turkey, Juve have lost their effective Turkish dedender, and Roma have lost the biggest Italian talent

Well you guys need a LB and we need a winger so fundamentally, this swap makes a ton of sense, especially considering Politano is a former youth player.

Under the surface though, I'm not sure who really comes out top of this swap as Politano's form has dropped off and Spinazzola is good, yet struggles for fitness. So both come with a caveat.

Frankly, we made a significant investment in Spinazzola just this past summer so its alarming that we're so quickly moving on from him. Something happened behind the scenes and I really don't know what that might've been. I guess we'll see when he's a little more free to speak once he's joined Inter.

A pair of Roma fans said me that he's argued with Fonseca, after that Wolfersberger match, I don't know if it's true but it might be one of the reasons

Anyway Politano is also a Roma fan, I expect he joins with entusiasm

Spinazzola's injury problems are such a shame. As a wing back he will destroy that left flank with Inter if he can stay fit. Sadly for him (but good for the rest of us) I dont think he will stay fit for long.

Beppe is truly amazing, back him and he will build a successful club. Sucks to see that at Inter.

They are going through a Juve-nization over there and it works.

Saw it as a highlight, great goal.

This season Dybala is becoming the player most Juve fans knew he is. Higuain is back to his 2016-2017 level. But the player i had the most enthusiasm about is Demiral Sad

For the rest i also like Sarri's effect on the team. But my opinion is not complete since i had a drop of interest this autumn combined with a very bizarre sleep schedule, apart from 3 full games i've watched the extended highlights at best. My interest for football is coming back now though.

The myth that Higuain is a mere finisher has gone on far too long and was produced mostly by Benz-Bots who used how complete the Frenchman is, to take away from Higuain and more so since his move to Napoli under Rafa, the CF bloomed in more ways than one.

For years I've seen Gonzalo playmaking, linking-up drifting to the wing, making searing passes occasionally and just making the players better around him.

On a technical level he is absurdly high just too bad his mentality fails him at times to which did at Milan post Juve-red card and carried on to Chelsea but going back to Juventus clearly settled him and he has had a very, very overlooked season so far and arguably their best attacker up front overall this season.

Shame on Paratici for attempting to swap him with Man United's trash

We have to thank Sarri for reviving him. Both our Argentine strikers back to being world class again.

He had to sell someone because we needed money. Dybala is too inconsistent anyway, I'll be fine if they still sell him

His problem is that he has almost no athleticism left, he has no explosion. It's either poor work ethic or he's just aging badly. He was handsome at Real

Napoli are worse than Milan this season and that takes some doing tbh

Hiring Gattuso was the final nail in the coffin. Braindead decision which is probably going to influence their future in terms of being a relevant team in the league.

Meanwhile Lazio record their 11th win in a row. Incredible form.

I think the top-three is pretty much settled, though it's just past half-way mark. It's between Roma & Atalanta for the remaining CL spot and I will lean towards Atalanta (so as to not jinx whatever chance Roma may have) to nick it.

Napoli meanwhile, Razz

Immobile is about to turn 30, does he just stay at Lazio and become a legend for the rest of his career? he should, if he were 2 years younger I think it would be inevitable that big teams would go for him with the kinda numbers he's been putting up the last couple of seasons

but I don't see it now, unless maybe Juve or Inter try for him in a couple seasons
