He hasn’t saved a single shot in all his appearances and he’s awful in the air.

he did save a 1v1 in the first game and vs brujes. he projected confidence and security but now it's gone. there is a reason PSG got him out he is not elite.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
After lavishing Areola with praise he goes and gives me 15 minutes of schoolboy performance. Alright, he is forgiven this time but man the overconfidence really bit him in the ass there
I dont even know why Modric came on and not James. Modric couldn't outmuscle a woman nevermind a professional footballer. He was a big reason why we had our backs against the goal later on in the game. Glad James got a goal. He's been killing himself on the pitch. If Kroos is injured, the decision on his replacement should be straight forward
Valverde was excellent today. We need consistency though, hope he continues in the same vein. Hazard and Bale ghosting through the second half, providing no support for Benzema
Good cameo by Isco too
We are starting to clear the sickness bey. Difficult decisions for ZZ awaits
Oh and the ref has got to be the worst we've had this season. He calls a penalty for the same play he ignored in the first half. Granada were playing more like Atleti out there, just butchering the feck out of our players

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
Good win happy for valverde great game he can start, the team is much better being direct no need to hold the ball down in midfield so much.
Good goal from hazard still needs to release the ball faster, solid game from bale and ordi, better team performance in attack just play quickly and direct, nothing over the top.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
Conetois been fking us for over a year and you want Areola to get hate after 1 match? Nah man @Freeza, go be wild somewhere else. But yeah, this is actually Areola on a normal day and I still rather him than Conetois as the latter has earned the hatred.
Also, good win. Usual suspects slacking off in defense while Hazard finally gave us a good match. Also, good match by Valverde, Odri, Benzema and I guess Bale. Not sure on the last one tbh.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
Areola looked really solid in the first half, although he didn't have all that much to work with. That said, those 15 minutes that Hala mentioned were not very reassuring, and all of a sudden, he looked really prone to making blunders. He looked like he was in panic mode. I hope that's not a habit of his.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
Valverde was out here looking like a FIFA player out there just mashing through players somehow getting the rebound.

That is a habit of his. All the talent and confidence in the world... BUT he makes some very poor decisions. He wants to be spectacular as opposed to making the safe play. Also very poor with the ball at his feet.
He is definitely not the answer imo. Lacks consistency.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
ZZ's luck is seeping through Valverde. Even ball he didn't think he'd get were saved from throwins by his sudden 7m long legsFreeza wrote:Valverde was out here looking like a FIFA player out there just mashing through players somehow getting the rebound.

The jury is still out on Areola. First time hes made errors but every decision after that were wrong. But still I'd rather that than a guy who concedes in the first 30secs
Navas wasn't immune to mistakes but had the ability to bounce back almost immediately. Hoping Areola shows the same traits
It wasn't poor goalkeeping that did him in today it was braindead errors. Better happen in a 3-0 lead than closely fought 0-0 game. TerStegen also makes those errors for Barca but he fits them nicely and is a good shot stopper

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
You do realize that Courtois is only here because Zidane vetoed an already agreed deal to bring in Kepa!
The considerations for Navas replacement were De Gea, Courtois and Kepa. Kepa has turned out to be the better one of those three. Such a shame Zidane stopped the agreed, with player, Athletic and Flo, deal!

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
and ZZ wanted to keep Navas all along. The board keeps trying to buy keepers. It was DeGea, then Kepa and finally Courtois.
For some strange reason, Flo made his mind up 4 years ago that Navas wasn't good enough.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
And Navas isn’t better than either our current keepers.
Problem is not the keepers. It’s defending as a team.

What are you on about this time?
Are you again reversing your support of Courtois yet again. Surely you aren’t saying Courtois is better than Kepa? As to De Gea, he has been off his ‘best in world’ for almost a year now and Kepa is slowly taking over the starting GK spot on NT let alone the raves for his play at club. At best, DeGea may be viewed as equal to Kepa.

Re: Real Madrid vs Granada
Valverde was great.
He should continue to be in the starting eleven. He brings the energy to link up with the vision and strength of the others.
Hopefully Kroos isn't out for long and it just a niggle.
