I am still flabbergasted by Koulibaly's own goal. Glad I watched the game instead of sleeping, was insane. Could not help but laugh at the ending.

I have figured Koulibaly out. A complete central defender who loves commanding the backline and does it well, and for the most part defends well but against top attackers and crucial situations he falls short in that 10% category and has him short of being a top defender.

I've been off the train for a season now.

With CBs like these a more subtle analysis is required than the 'big moment' flop label given the sheer amount of variables.

Still on the Koulibaly train tbh. That own goal was a fluke. He sliced a routine clearance. Happens to the best and he's definitely in that discussion.

As for the partnership with Manolas, that will take time. I think expectations were that they would gel immediately, but I think they are rather similar in their style of defending. I personally think Kouli would do better to have a partner who is more comfortable on the ball and starting plays from the back with accurate passing. That's not Manolas and it'll never be Manolas. Put him next to a good ball-playing CB like maybe Hummels and I think that improves him. That said, once he and Manolas can figure out each other's cues and habits, they'll be pretty solid anyway.

Here's Napoli's real problem though....their midfield. Fabian was not good today for me. Not enough defensive presence as Allan was getting overrun. Zielinski needs to play ahead of them a bit as he's useless defensively as well. Juve had it way too easy in the middle, especially in the 1st half. Napoli needs a bulldog in the middle to sit in front of the defense and destroy attacks. They were missing that player today and it exposed their defense horribly.

Insane to concede those two goals in 2 minutes. That's Chiellini's absence right there. De Ligt is not Chiellimi yet, by a huge distance our worse player tonight. It will come with time and understanding of the backline.

Other than him the team played an amazing match, going up 3-0 when it could have easily been 5. The two posts, Meret's save on Khedira.

Also, HIGUAIN. Fucking love prime Higuain, since preseason he looked super fit. Said last match, and this match again. No way he doesnt start when playing like this. Khedira has been huge as well. Revived to prime Khedira in these two matches. Bonucci was awesome. Alex is playing his beat football so far. De Sciglio has so much confidence and Danilo was actually good.

I have been saying it since his first season with us, Douglas on the left is something totally different. Completely wasted when he is on the right, today when he switched, 2 assists from the left, it really opens up his game.

Would have been unbelievable to not win this match with the performance put on by everyone but De Ligt. I'm excited for Rabiot and Ramsey to be ready.
