Well before he went to Madrid he was considered the most promising Spanish FB. His stint at Alaves got a fair bit of hype. I know he's a bit of a douche but I mean he's better than what we have lmao.

He's a Spanish FB aka he's probably shit defensively. We probably won't play him and Conti in big matches together and that's fine. I mean even if he's a flop at least he'll be useful against the small teams. End of the day, he's a strong runner who can change the pace of the game with his direct attacking. When was the last time we had anything like that?

So yeah, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Doesn't make sense. Why would United even entertain the thought of having that numpty Courtois when they already have a much superior goalie?

I think whoever came up with this rumor got the first part right (Madrid is offering some players + cash and United only wants straight cash), but I think they got the names Madrid is offering in the deal wrong. Bale? Maybe. Ceballos? Could be. But Courtois? I don't think he even came up in the discussion.
