Both are still at the club mate. Also, Valverde is gonna be a proper bench warmer under Zidane, quote me on this.

Why would Sarabia come back though? Doesn't fit the ZZ system at all. ZZ seems to want a physical pacey winger, not a creative CAM. We have a million of those. Sarabia should either stay where he is or go to the EPL. Could see Spurs or Arsenal getting good use out of him.

I do miss having a physical, pacey winger. As much as Bale has become increasingly annoying with his overall performance decline and neverending injury woes, aside from the pace he once had, I always appreciated his athletic ability in aerial duels. Like that time when he out-jumped and out-positioned a taller, french, diva

Marca (José Diaz) is saying Zidane has asked for a hold on any discussions about Eriksen. He wants to see how negotiations go with Pogba first.
Note - there is NO talk about a second midfielder nor RW!
It looks like the sales will be James, Kovacic, possibly some of the returning loanees, Bale, Isco, Mariano. Possible also with Reguilion, Llorente and Ceballos although more likely they will go on loans or sales with buyback.

We have been in contact with Ndom's agent. It's just really early in the window. The signings will start trickling in, but they aren't all going to happen at once.
Hazard should be announced on Monday (supposedly), then I expect the announcements to come one at a time. Jovic, Mendy are almost certain, Ndom and Pogba/Eriksen will likely come late in the window if at all.

It's unlikely Bayern pay the clause for James, so rumours are we will sell h for 60 millions. That's the asking price. Napoli want to sign him

I suspect the signing of Pogba / Eriksen and any others will be delayed until some of the exit signings come to fruition! At the moment they are asking for top dollars for Bale, Isco, Kovacic, James, Navas.

What the hell do the board see in eriksen? a proper jester wearing clown shoes in the semis and in today's final. eriksen has no business with us. if we signing a luxury mid, let it be pogba because at least pogba actually has had some big game performances (juventus).
Zidane is absolutely right not being convinced by eriksen. rubbish performance today. kane was creating more tham eriksen. harry ****ing kane.

Turok, I’m sorry but I have to call you out. You’re completely clueless. You’re judging Eriksen and Poch based on 1 match against a team that is head and shoulders better. You’re calling certain players “frauds” yet you clearly don’t watch them. What type of thrill do you get out of making such baseless claims?

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
I've actually watched the Spurs a lot... Eriksen hasn't been all that good for a while now. He was never fast and athletic (but quick enough); but he's been looking particularly slow the past 2-3 months. Just has looked off.
No problem with him at all. I think he's a very good player overall. But he's a mini-me version of Hazard and cannot play CM unless it's the AM position.
With Hazard here, we need a very different profile imo. Need athleticism and physical presence and a true CM (preferably B2B). Without Hazard coming, then Eriksen would have been a definite upgrade over Isco and Asensio.... but again, Hazard is coming.

I'll mention it here because it's not a troll... this CL final was absolutely atrocious. Technically, it was maybe the worst I've ever seen. How did these two teams ever make it so far?
We could easily have won it again if almost all our top players didn't decide to take the year off.

Considering you've watched a lot of Spurs you see that he plays next to absolute numpties like Sissoko, Winks and Dier. Without Eriksen Spurs have a relegation candidate midfield. And that is not hyperbole, that is truth.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Sissoko, as much as I don't like his style, has been the best midfielder for Spurs by far this season. Been incredibly good. Eriksen has been very disappointing for me after a good start. Biggest reason Spurs struggled so hard to end the season (they did finish 4th in EPL despite it) was Eriksen's play falling off a cliff. Without him, they had no creative play to feed the strikers. Didn't help that Kane was injured too... but at least they had alternatives up front with Moura and Son. Nothing creative after Eriksen.
And I actually like Eriksen a lot.

The only exciting players Sputs have is Son. The rest are rubbish including the coach. No wonder ZZ is stalling on Eriksen

Seriously can't believe Reguilon is being sold over the Fat-ass, lazy, finished & Old marcelo.
I know he is an amazing dribbler, but he USED to be one of the best LBs of the world.
He is Old & Fat now, and will Never be the same as before.

Eriksen is definitely coming off a poor season in england, and when you factor in how terrible he was yesterday, it's hard to come here and say "i want this guy in my team"...

That isn't stopping some of us from wanting Pogba despite his own not too convincing season. Also, @Freeza, come defend your boy ffs.

fair argument, Pogba's ceiling compared to Eriksen is just so dmn higher though.Doc wrote:Mr Nick09 wrote:Eriksen is definitely coming off a poor season in england, and when you factor in how terrible he was yesterday, it's hard to come here and say "i want this guy in my team"...

also here is something to be said about how each performed in the biggest games of their careers so far. Pogba was brilliant in WC final, while Eriksen just shat the bed big time
i would rather go for Ndombele than Eriksen because his strengths are things we lack in the team. We have players like Eriksen already, i have seen those boys getting outrunned by la liga midfielders, i dont want to see that anymore.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Pogba's bottom level is also damn lower than Eriksen's, or anyone else I can think of, which is why I'm extremely sceptical towards him. You don't want to see the level of poor performances he's capable of. We've seen similar things from our own players this season, already. Pogba's statistics are actually quite favorable towards him this season, but stats don't tell half the story, his consistency has been absolutely atrocious, and his big game performance level is nothing to write home about. Factor in that he needs a specific environment to play to the best of his ability, and suddenly he doesn't look so appealing. I would love to have a player with Pogba's physical and technical gifts if he had the mindset of someone like Kanté, but he's more similar to Özil in that regard. Actually, the most head-bashingly frustrating thing about Pogba is when he decides to be a show pony and just wastes possession with useless tricks and flicks when the situation calls for him to do what's simple and effective.
No matter how I look at it, he's just a poor fit for our team, unless we bring in players who can compliment his peculiar demands. And even then, we'd be expecting a lot from him. I see a lot of his supporters on the internet keep referencing his time with Juve, or more recently, France when arguing how capable he is, but that doesn't really tell me anything. I think it should be natural to put question marks over his consistency over the past 3 years when considering his value as a player. A short world cup and a season with Juventus seems a bit farfetched a sample size to use when determining how well he would do in a different environment. If we end up getting him, I sure hope we have money to spare for a hard-working, defensive half.

the silver lining here is that pogba played for mourinho is his 3rd year, the worst imaginable, and he was specifically targeted by Mourinho. then he was coached by some lad called Solksjear... what's Eriksen's excuse?

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
I don't know what's happened to Eriksen. Only explanation I can think of is world cup fatigue. I don't watch Tottenham all that often, but when he performs well, even a blind man can see that he's got exceptional ability. Apart from his lack of pace, I think his main weakness is that he sometimes opts for safe passes rather than the more risky ones, which happens to be his greatest strength. He has the vision and passing ability to create something out of nothing, yet in matches like the Champions League final, he tends to just pass it sideways when there are better, albeit more risky alternatives that most people are able to spot.
I think that, after De Bruyne, Pogba is the midfielder that has the highest potential to influence a match going forward, but his productiveness leaves a lot to be desired and he's mostly been a ghost in the vast majority of big matches I've seen him in. Eriksen has traditionally been more stable than Pogba, but he reminds me a lot of Toni Kroos with his safe, possession recycling when he's not having a particularly good game. Neither of them are known to put their stamp on big matches, but Pogba can sometimes be an outright liability in them.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
I completely disagree with your assessment of Pogba. He's one of the best CMs in the world without the shadow of a doubt. I can't think of any better actually. Modric used to be. Kante... but he's a specialist and plays a low risk game (easier).
Thinking of it... who's better? I may just be drawing a blank. Only CMs i can think of are Kante, an in-form Modric, and that''s pretty much it.
DeBruyne, Hazard, Eriksen are all AMs, not CMs.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Eriksen was very disappointing yesterday but i do not doubt that he is a very good player.
My problem with the club going after Eriksen is that he is another AM that we are going to try and play him at CM. We've had Isco, James and Ceballos all play formerly AMs playing CM pretty poorly imo. My other problem, is that he is not the type of midfielder we need especially since Kroos is staying and will likely remain a starter. I prefer a mid like Pogba or Ndombele to bring energy and athleticism that Kroos and Modric lack, and something Eriksen does not have.
