no they are not. Also if Barca has the best team from front to back why don’t they win it every season. Just read a report that klopp says this was Liverpool’s best away performance in the champions league for 2 years and people wonder why we are a bunch of losers.

FC Barcelona which you see now , has lost only twice in this season. So this barcelona is different from the other  season. The defending has been improved a lot. Defenders does not have world class but good enough to nullfy the early press and very calm at intese moment.

If we keep a clean sheet at Anfield we will have lost only 1 goal in the knockout stages which, in fairness, should have been ruled out.

No way does Klopp deserve the blame, Liverpool played really well. Disappointing they didn't score, but they really should have. Plenty of the chances that were created would have gone in on any other day, just bad luck.

Then it was compounded by Barca getting a bit of luck as well.

I think if this match was replayed 100 times in some simulation, 90/100 the match would have ended in a draw.

I agree that Liverpool played well and I don’t think Barca was amazing by any means, but this is going way too far. People can talk all they want about the chances Liverpool missed, but the truth is Barca also missed a ton of chances. It could have and should have been 4 or 5. In fact when it comes to actual sitters, Barca missed as many (maybe even more) as Liverpool.

The luck that Barca had was the fact they kept a clean sheet. A fair result would have been 3-1 or 4-2. But they were the better team and deserved to win, luck had nothing to do with that.

This match did expose Liverpool's lack of depth. Firmino out and they had no backup ready. Also the likes of Wijnaldum and Henderson are not good enough for CL semis either.

Liverpool had more shots(15 to 12), only 1 less shot on target (the ones off the post don't count as "on target"), more "big chances missed" (3 to 2). Imo more penalty claims that didn't go their way.

The score line was flattering. A absolute brilliant free kick and a flukey goal. Those aren't high percentage chances. So let's not blow it out of proportion on the other end.

2-1 or 2-2 would be much more closer to fair based on xG. Liverpool underperformed xG and Barca overperformed xG.

Of course they do. Your former star man was Barca's worst midfielder or attacker. Rakitic, Vidal and Busquets are all better than every midfielder you have, and there are 3 of them. I'm sure we don't need to even begin talking about Suarez and Messi.

James Milner had the best chances before the sitter from Salah AFTER it was 3-0 lol.

Says it all really, you can't really on James Milner to score you key goals in a CL semi final.

Also as i said last night they gave key players far too much space as i thought they would, that game was far too back and forth for Liverpool to really have a chance.

The reality is if you have a game like that against Messi, 9/10 he will punish you more than you punish Barca.

It Is frustrating to win nothing after this great season, but I don't think you can blame manager.
It Is surreal to not win league after so many points and just One loss for just a point (so, it'd be lost really for a detail), in CL you've got knocked out from Messi. But as squad It was one of best performances made at Camp Nou.

The problem with XG is this tit doesn't take into account the quality of the shot takers. Of course barca will overpefform on XG and pool will underperform if you have Messi and Suárez vs Milner taking the shots.

alisson vvd Robertson mane and salah would all get games for Barca.

Liverpool didn't create a lot, just lots of huffing and puffing. First shot on target they had was in the 46th minute.

Mane had a half chance. Getting that cross under control at full speed is not a great chance, only few can score from positions like that. Budget MSN doesn't belong in that category. Milner beating ter Stegen is another waste of try. Only Salah had a great chance and that was because our team was still celebrating the 3th goal and was disorganized in that moment. Meanwhile we scored 3, Dembélé should have scored 2 more and there was a handball in the box as well from Liverpool. Fair scoreline would have been 5-1.

4 goals past Spurs, 4 goals past United, already 3 goals past Liverpool halfway through. Mule League at its finest. Was never in doubt.
