Madrid Derby
Time to put these guys out of their misery. Though I am wary of their brutality so maybe rest Vini or they'll probably bite him again.
I expect Ceballos to play this game along with Reguillon. Rest will be the same as the clasico
A win will see us leapfrog them. Barca play at Bilbao tomorrow so there's a massive chance they don't win. Got to capitalise on that

At the Wanda, oof, not too sure about a victory there but one hopes for the best. Steady as we go...

Re: Madrid Derby
No, Vini needs to play no matter what. He needs to get roughed up and introduced to the brutality and thuggery of the game, and there's no opponent better than Atlético for that.
Against Barça he was good, but his lack of experience was clear as day, which is understandable given his age. He's a diamond in the rough and he really needs all the playing time he can get to get to the next level, which I know he can get to given his potential. When he was substituted against Barça, it felt so wrong because he's 10 times more talented than Asensio and Bale combined and none of those two deserve a spot in the starting eleven ahead of him.
A guy like Vini is not meant for the bench. If you can't give him regular playing time, and as a starter as well, then send him somewhere else because you owe it to a guy of his talent to keep his development in first division football alive.
Also, I'm starting to get a little bit worried about Llorente. I rate him very high, but his recurring injuries are casting a shadow over his insane talent. It doesn't matter how great you are, if you're injury-prone, you're unreliable.
I hope he'll shake off all these injuries and come back stronger. The last thing we need is another Bale in the team.
And finally, when everybody is fit, I don't want numpties like Asensio and Bale anywhere close to the starting eleven because there are definitely others who are way more talented and productive and who deserve to start ahead of them.
Now, tear a new hole in that thug team please.

Re: Madrid Derby
I read a report that Llorente may have been rushed back after his injury. Wouldn't surprise me given the state of our medical team. He is now out for 3 weeks, I hope Solari takes his time easing him back in like ZZ used to do.
I agree about Vini, but man this is the same Atleti team that broke Ramos' nose without repercussions. We have a game against Ajax in 4 days. If he gets injured we'll have to play Bale there and we know how involved he is in our build up play.

And Bale makes me wish we had old man Joaquin to bring off the bench. Sigh...

Re: Madrid Derby
I'm just going to throw this out there. If it wasn't for Navas, there's no way in hell Madrid would've hanged on to that draw at Camp Nou.
If Solari is truly about meritocracy then Navas should be the one between the posts today. It's absolutely unacceptable to have such a great performance against a great team and then find yourself on the bench the game after.

Re: Madrid Derby
Annnd it's official. No Ceballoa. Solari will realise too late that he needs Ceballos in there over Modric/Kroos. I just hope it's not in the CL. At the very least both Vini and Reguillon are starting

Re: Madrid Derby
Solari made up his mind about Keylor and Isco before he'd even taken a step onto Valdebebas. His ego won't accept them both back into the XI. He is a weasel

Re: Madrid Derby
They are both great players. It's a shame we're likely going to lose both of them in the summer because of someone's ego, someone who won't probably stay around much as manager.

Re: Madrid Derby
Solari is smart, he knows the club signed Courtois to start and he is doing that. It gives him credit with Perez because Perez will trust him to play the guys he wants to a certain extent
Isco? He shot himself in the foot by extending the polemic, talking, making social media suggestions, etc... This week he was complaining on Twitter that he is not getting enough chances.... he should have shut his mouth and worked hard, he would have gotten more time that way.
At the end of the day, we gave Keylor a new contract, i dont see him leaving. Isco for sure will, not the end of the world

Re: Madrid Derby
If ZZ had stayed he would've vetoed Courtois and his rep with Perez wouldn't have taken a hit. Solari didn't even do it subtly he just flatly pulled him out of CL he had started in under Lope. Carlo did it really well with Iker and Navas and there was no rumours or anything, squad harmony was not hurt. Solari has no idea how to manage a group of WC players. I am sure Ramos is managing this team. Solari just picks the players
On Isco, both camps have made mistakes, but unlike Carlo and ZZ Solari has not moved a muscle to defend him. Instead Ramos went and celebrated with him, someone (think it was Carvajal or Modric) called him the nicest player in the team. I am very sure we'll move on from Solari at the end of the season whether we win the CL or not. In the end the players will win and Ramos is firmly behind his teammate. Solari can go become a pundit for all I care. If our season wasn't already such a disaster, what are the chances they would'nt have done a Utd with Mou on him. He should feck off, he's rubbish, we are basically playing the ZZ way. If we want the proper ZZ Perez should get off his backside and offer him a blank check

Re: Madrid Derby
If isco wants to play he has to earn it, can't see how anyone can say with a straight face, isco played well in any of the games Solari took a chance on him, he was very bad and barely jogging back why bother? If your Solari? At least asensio actually trying to be more useful again.

Re: Madrid Derby
Isco can't understand the big deal about this guy? Solari simply didn't waste games on isco and lose before he dropped him, that the only difference between Solari and rafa, Zidane or Carlo, and no one needs to defend isco why can't he just play good and be a starter without all these excuses? I have seen better players than isco being treated worse.

Re: Madrid Derby
are we talking about the same Ramos whom Isco slightly jabbed on instagram saying Ramos doesnt have his back anymore? lmao
Isco cornered himself in a way that 0 player is going to come out of their way to make it a thing. Solari has won this already, battle is done. this was never the type of situation where you have Isco team vs Solari team lol, no one is team isco, not even Ramos. no one has time for this

You guys need to get behind the coach who's steadying the fuck out of the ship instead of advocating for certain individuals who are not entirely blameless. This reminds me of when some people here thought fucking Pepe was more valuable and worth keeping than Zidane lol.

Re: Madrid Derby
Not sure if it’s true, but I read that Solari responded to Isco’s tweet about unfair treatment by suggesting that he could step up his game in training.

Isco has been underperforming and clearly not trying as hard as he can and he wants to play the victim on top of that, he is simply not that good for an elite team.

Re: Madrid Derby
This is not a penalty, but at the same time, the ref should have called the foul on Vinicius on that Atleti goal.
so karma
