What nonsense?
Australia has been called out many times for racism against Muslim players from white teams. Moeen Ali and Khwaja have spoken about it.
It brings me back to answer how USA >>>>>>>>>>>> World in terms of accepting people from all forms of life.

Re: Euro 2020 Qualifying Groups Thread
We did get to see UEFA's new three-step plan to tackle racism in the stadium last night, which might have improved the situation, if only a tiny bit.
The timeline was:
- Tyrone Mings asked the linesman if he "heard that" in the first half. Southgate then reported abuse to the UEFA official.
- Step one of UEFA's plan happens. The game is stopped, and an announcement is made to the fans to stop racist chanting.
- Game continues. Rashford and Sterling are boo'd every time they touch the ball. Apparently there was more abuse on top of that.
- Step two of UEFA's plan. Game is stopped again, and a section of the Bulgarian support is removed from the stadium, or they left of their own volition. Of course, it's a group of men dressed in black, making Nazi salutes and with banners against UEFA and their respect campaign.
- The game continues. Reportedly there were more incidents of racist abuse, but the game continued to its conclusion. But had England reported more, the game would have been abandoned there and then.
- After the game, a cameraman reportedly told Southgate to "fuck off", and the feeling in the press was they couldn't understand what the big deal was. Even Bulgaria's manager sidestepped the problem, instead accusing the England fans of being just as bad (the worst thing England fans chanted last night was "you racist bastards, we know what you are", but were otherwise intent on supporting Sterling). Funnily enough, Bulgaria's captain was pleading with the fans at half-time to behave. If anything, the Bulgarian team seemed more dispirited by it all than England did. England just got angry instead.
The thing is, no matter what UEFA does from here, it's not going to help. Football has a racism problem because society in general continues to have a racism problem (this isn't the thread to discuss why that's the case, but you can observe it happening everywhere). As a sport, football has always been something anyone can go to and unleash all the pent up anger they have, whereas rugby and cricket, for example, tend to have higher standards for fan behaviour due to the type of crowds those sports attract. So UEFA can ban fans from the ground and expel teams from tournaments all it wants, but it won't address the root of the problem.
Of course, England has to clean up its own back yard, too. It's well and good our commentators and pundits denouncing the abuse our players have received, but they shouldn't pretend it's not a problem back home, too.

I didn’t know he had a daughter, but he has a fairly attractive wife, so I wouldn’t be surprised if his daughter is attractive
I just realized that Deschamps looks a bit like Droit Au But, who used to be a member of these forums. I bet he wouldn’t have appreciated me saying that, but it’s true

And ok folks, we get it, England has its fair share of racism. And when they rear their ugly heads here, they get dealt with with just as much vengeance and furious anger too. It's annoying how people try to downplay continental racism against English born black players with "BuT eNgLaNd HaS rAcIsTs ToO!!!"

I am not downplaying anything. Racism as a whole needs to be dealt with, its obviously much worse outside England.

Re: Euro 2020 Qualifying Groups Thread
Hey @ Hans, they have listened to you. Thiago is starting instead of Saul and Rodri is replacing Busquets. Other changes from other day are Iñigo Martinez, in for suspended Ramos, Moreno in for injured Rodrigo, DeGea in for Kepa and Carvajal in place of Navas.
Apparently kids Ceballos, Fabián, Oyarzabal did enough to warrant a second start. But I question the CBs and of course this inexperienced coach!

Let's see what UEFA do now though. A £10k fine isn't going to do anything. Bulgaria have already taken action by sacking their sports minister (lol why though?). But it's something.
Needs some drastic action here.
