Listened to Nasir
6/10. Mediocre. Nothing memorable.
Another past it legend alongside Eminem, The Game, 50 Cent, Snoop and Dre

Violence, assault vs pregnant woman, sexual abuse... at just 20 years old.

Last i heard 50 Cent still had some decent jams
Not surprised by a new underwhelming Nas album... he's done since at least 15 years. Was an A+ lyricist in his prime tho, albums 1-2 are flawless. Illmatic brings back good memories.

His twitter followers are savaging people for pointing this stuff out. They are giving him a pass on all of this simply because he got got. It's sad that he died, but the stuff he (allegedly I suppose since it's still be litigated in court) did to his ex is really hard to look past, especially now.

I don’t think anyone deserves to be gunned down in the streets at 20 years old. Troubled past notwithstanding. Now, NOT to compare him with Tupac, but he had an even more so troubled past and he was even convicted of some of the things you’re accusing xxx of. To me, and I’m not even that big of a fan (bar a couple tracks), it’s a pity to see a talented kid see his end like that.
Sadly, the way he was it always seemed like his story was to have a destructive ending.

It seems to be an armed robbery gone wrong. Sad, whatever he did he should've been tried in court for it, not gunned down in his car for a LV bag.

No doubt. I liked Sad!, but that's about it. Always rough to see kids go out this way. Tupac definitely had demons, as did John Lennon before he was gunned down. We, as a society, have this weird way of over-venerating controversial celebrities when they die. The bad is forgotten and only the good remains. It's quite odd.

Death is the great equalizer, it doesn't seem that odd to me. We are far from an eye for an eye train of thought and XXX, for his wrongdoings, murder was not among them. It's a cruel end for an obviously talented, troubled, 20 year old kid.

I'll leave this here for you XXX critics
It's rare to see someone from the ghetto improve and become a positive influence, but he was all about positivity. Which is rare coming from where he is from imo.

He was a troubled individual but surely didnt deserve to be gunned down in the street.

TBF that wasn't a school shooting, and it could have happened almost anywhere in the world in the instance of a mugger having a gun on him

No other developed country even comes close to the US when it comes to gun death rates, come on. It's not only about school shootings, gun violence in general is insane in America.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
He seemed like a throughly terrible person. From a criminal record, to bragging about beating up a gay cellmate, to domestic violence, to even rape.
Perhaps, he never really had a chance coming from his background, but I am sure we lost much better people as a nation yesterday.
The two robbers probably did us a favor.

Did us a favor? are you kidding?
He never raped anyone and domestic violance is hardly a crime worth dying for! My father domestically abused me and my mother when I was a kid and we both forgave him and moved on. I've been in fights with friends and have been hit by them too and I forgave them. It's not THAT serious of a crime to be attacked by a male when you are a girl. Nobody likes it but I'd hardly wish death upon anyone for it.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
He was a criminal who kept committing crimes and kept making things worse over and over again. Everything I read about him points to what warrior said. Society probably dodged a bullet.
Shouldn't have been killed but taken to trial as he was gonna be. Can't pretend to care just because he made some songs though, he was scum.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
Except there was a point where he stopped comitting crimes and were doing charitys and donations all the time. Coming from where he is from being a criminal is ineveitable and while I don't like that mentality it's true
