Him and Flick are the best coaches in international football. He's underrated because a lot of people attribute his success to MSN.

I swear the only reason he starts is because he's right-footed .

I'm not sure what VAR is for. Mbappe's goal was offsides. In a game like this, it's a damn shame. I hope Spain gets one now.

Re: UEFA Nations league
But why does he make two substitutions towards a more defensive team, at 1-1 and even 1-2?Casciavit wrote:Hapless_Hans wrote:Luis Enrique is too good to be managing a national team tbh

Koke for "Gavi" and Merino for Torres? That's not going to work.. I mean Gavi is a nothing player who has no business being in that team but still

Yeah. I just wish the officiating would actually do its job ffs. We don't need this nonsense. It was a game that didn't deserve a VAR mistake. How does VAR make mistakes though?
Anyhow, future is bright for Spain. I like the way this Spain plays a lot more than the glory days believe it or not. There's possession with intent to attack.

Re: UEFA Nations league
It does not suit France to play as underdog. with talents like Pogba, Benzema and Mbappe you have to attack.

We only attack when we fall behind lol. So I'm now hoping to go down 1-0 as early as possible.

Well, the Koke sub made sense to me. Momentum shifted to France's side after the equalizer and bringing on fresh legs and experience in Koke to shore up the midfield was a sensible option.
As for the rest of the subs, it seems like he brought on attacking midfielders. It wouldn't surprise me if the thinking was that a lone CF wouldn't be effective against a 3 man defense, so having a non-traditional CF up top would cause them more problems. He probably also wanted the attacking midfielders to play to the side of France's DM's since France was essentially defending in a 5-2 shape and that's where the space was.
Again, I'm not sure what he was thinking with the subs but if I had to take a guess it would probably be something like that.

Why didn't they show a replay of the Mbappe offside decision?

Your counter attacks are scary though. Especially with the addition of Theo bombing down the wing.
Pogba carrying the ball and then providing it to Theo, Mbappe, Griezmann, and Benzema on the run is a scary sight.

Re: UEFA Nations league
Oh.... so a referee explained why Mbappe was not offsides. When the defender slides and touches the ball before it gets to Mbappe, that erases the offsides.
I thought that, if the player receiving the ball interferes with the defender before he touches the ball, then that touch doesn't erase the offsides.
Anyhow, I guess I don't know. They make these rules so damned unnecessarily complicated. I don't understand what a hand ball is either tbh.

Mbappe's pressing is pathetic
