Re: UEFA Nations league
Croatia have beaten Spain 3-2.
So on Sunday, the winner of England and Croatia will qualify, while the loser will be relegated. Spain can still go through if they draw.

Haven't paid much attention but is that because you believe we've gotten better or Croatia have gotten worse.

Croatia's gotten worse. They don't have Mandzukic or Subasic. Modric is getting better; but still nowhere on form.
I also feel that England is more settled and Sterling is better.

Re: UEFA Nations league
I watched the Croatia v Spain game and it was quite entertaining, either team could have won, very late Croatia winner. Kudos for the Croats to come back after the previous beating in Spain.
This is a plus for the "Nations Cup is real news" bandwagon, the game was played at a good tempo and even had some edge to it.

Re: UEFA Nations league
I've enjoyed the Nations League a lot. I've only followed the Division A, but there have been some excellent games thanks to teams playing like they give a damn. The competition doesn't have a lot of prestige yet, but a lot of nations have taken it seriously, which is a positive sign.

Re: UEFA Nations league
After the Dutch win vs France, we have been relegated from tier A with one game to go lmao
Deservedly so, I'm starting to like the Nations League format

Re: UEFA Nations league
It Is good idea for football generally. NT breaks in Autumn are terribile, at least you give serious matches during the pause.
As football Club fan mainly, It Is a problem.
It contribues to squeeze energies of players, now they don't rest or manage their energies for friendly matches anymore. For example Perisic Brozovic Vrsaljko to play two battles for avoiding relegation / promoting to final four . And they have already worn out a bit.
It Is incredible Croatia situation : if they lose they relegate, if they win they "promote" to final four.
Not by chance Klopp is a self-claimed hater about this cup . He sounded an unheard alarm when he said It Is a good idea for other sports, not for football. There is no space in modern football for other official games. I wonder if he could be right. If we already complain about player not to arrive on great conditions at the end of season, is going to be worse with Uefa Nations League now ?

Re: UEFA Nations league
Upon further examination, I am sorry to state that the Nations league is not real. This thing is fake news, made up to keep the masses watching football during the international breaks. Netherlands, a team that failed to make the World Cup is beating the likes of France and Germany, that would never happen in real life.
Russia, Denmark, Ukrania going into group A, Germany in Group B, come on, that is soooo fake news! I just watched 20 minutes of the Russia v Germany game and it was sooo bad, Germany was sooo bad, yet it was 3-0 for them with the likes of Serge Gnarby and Leroy Sane scoring. Only in a fake league would the likes of Leroy Sane or Serge Gnarby score goals.
How about the top scorer of this fake competition, none of you would know who it is, why would you. A fake Armenian guy, with a fake name Yura Movsisyan, who -you cant make this shit up-now get this for fake news, plays for the.............................................................
Chicago Fire in the MLS, how can I take this fricking thing seriously?????

Re: UEFA Nations league
Totally different line up from the team that beat USA. I guess more experienced, less nervous lineup... that almost just gave up a nervy goal to the Croats.

Re: UEFA Nations league
First time I've watched us since the WC. One thing I'd like to see is Sterling float around a bit more, he's not a traditional winger who commits people and puts crosses in.
The way he's being used (by design or not) is limiting his potential impact. That aside I don't have very many complaints.

ffs
Was just thinking this game had "play well but go down to a jammy goal" all over it. Hate it when I'm right.

Re: UEFA Nations league
I love the national team and international football 0 - 1 Why bother I just want club football
'arry should have scored in the first half, for the most part the English are doing all the attacking, but the Croats of course score first. I think a scoring draw relegates England?

Does it? Because of h2h and away goal rule?

Re: UEFA Nations league
We've lost a lot of belief after that goal.
I guess that's the next thing Southgate has to work on. He's got good talent available to him and the players buy into his methods, but they need more resilience.
Also, his subs could use some work still. Keeping Dier on but removing Delph, who's been our best performer, is odd to say the least.

Yes, I think it is H2H tiebreaker. The anti Nations League brigade will have more ammunition if the score remains, Croatia will win the group with a -4 gols difference.

Lingard 1-1. Scrappy goal from a long-throw. Channelling our inner Tony Pulis there.

Re: UEFA Nations league
Croatia could have killed off that game but squandered their chance laughably. Now England may well win this since instanct impact and decision maker Sancho is on the pitch now.

What do the people in England laughing about Liverpool getting in a throw-in coach have to say for themselves now?

Re: UEFA Nations league
They're still processing keepers being able to pass the ball. Throw in coach acceptance is still a few years off.
