Well tbf they are not United level as they would clearly improve the team, United is below their level

Vlad the Impaler wrote:Hmm, I think most of the players except a few had a very good attitude today and to be honest Tottenham was very very clinical and a bit lucky with the first two goals which came in a moment where if I'd have to pick the better team I'd say the balance was inclined for United. At the other end, United was the opposite of clinical, wasting a couple of great chances to score, one at 0-0 and one at 0-1 and had many more attempts which just didn't go our way today. After the two goals, defense looked very poor (especially the CBs and especially because the team went up the pitch trying to come back), but the overall attitude was much better than I would've expected. Disappointed with the result, but not with the team overall. The game against Brighton was much much worse and not even comparable to the one we saw today. This is just how I see things. Mourinho not to blame, no fault from him if you think about the goals. The rest, could've been better, but I can't complain that I didn't see a team trying and fighting.
Congrats Spurs for the three points!
Completely agree Vlad man.
For this particular performance, Mourinho wasnt the issue. But a lot of players underperforming at the same time has to be because of the negative atmosphere prevailing in the club right now.
Anyway he has to go. For his own sake and for the club's sake. The earlier the best really. Even if someone big is not available (ala Zidane, still think all this is media spinning stories), we have someone like Carrick who the players respect to take charge for the short time who definitely wont do any worse than Mou at this point.

City are looking at Ruben Neves[£60m] and are working to discover his situation/Wolves' plans. Txiki Begiristain and Jorge Mendes get on really well, though apparently Mourinho has got word of it and isn't happy. City worried United could rival any potential bid
lol. How can anyone compete with this.

Proper cup match between Forest and Newcastle tonight.
Newcastle behind two mins into the game. Scored by their former striker Daryl Murphy.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part II
Yep lol the reason the gap is so large other than the fact they are well coached is they actually sign the right players. Cbs aside which never get right, most of the PL teams are absolutely terribly run which people brush under the rug for some reason.
I'm surprised they haven't tried to sign more DMs tbh, Fernandinho is very average and they have no cover anyway. Literally nobody rates their CBs so it's not like they have some amazing world XI nobody can compete with.
Get your shit in order and you can very much compete with them and stop buying shite.
I struggle to feel sorry when clubs are buying jobbers like XHAKA, Bakayoko, Fred, Sissoko etc for 30m plus and that's just one area and then complain you can't compete.

Fernandinho is a great player, he is the reason City don't get killed on the counter. One of their most consistent players too, I rarely saw a bad game from him. But they do need a good back up for him

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part II
Spurs and Liverpool are well run clubs, they just don't have the budget as City. The only club from top 4 that's poorly run is United.
How can you compete with a team that spends 150m on 2 fullbacks? And 250m on CBs? Liverpool almost always sells in order to buy players (check net spend since new owners took) and Spurs literally bought no one this summer. Not even going to talk about the wage bill City has compared to others, City can pay players astronomical wages to sit on their bench, meaning they have great depth. It's not like City didn't have flops which they signed for big money, it's just they can afford to sign flops, they just sell them and buy another player for big money again.

I actually think all the big-six clubs are pretty well run.
Also, Fernandinho has been very good, but he's getting old now. Fernando was the mediocre one.

People really underrating Laporte/Stones/Kompany/Otamendi CBs group. Easily the best CB group in the league followed by Spurs Vertonghen/Alderweireld/Sanchez.
1. VvD
2. Laporte ( )
3. Alderweireld
4. Stones
5. Vertonghen

City's defense is great and in my view clearly the best in the league, but Tottenham's group of defenders isn't close to City's at all. I think United's defense at its best (and this means Valencia, Bailly, Smalling and Shaw in form) is 2nd in the league. But you never know with United nowadays...
And of course, I think we can't take the performance of the defenders alone tbh. It depends a lot on the overall organization of the team...so if things go well in the other compartments, it's easier for the defenders to perform well.

Sept. 15 - Spurs A
Sept 18 - PSG H
Sept 22 - Southampton H
Sept. 25 - Chelsea H
Sept. 29 - Chelsea A
Oct. 3 - Napoli A
Oct. 7 - Man City H
We will have 7 top tier games in 21 days... really shit schedule... We will arguably need our 11 best players for all games except Soton and Chelsea at carabao cup, I know we will rotate but our most important players will be burned out mentally and physicaly by the time we are to face City...
Plenty of excuses IMO.
