Asia appreciation thread

About time IMO.

All Asian teams were among the lowest rated teams coming into this tournament unlike their African or North/Central American counterparts but apart from the fake Asians(Australia), none of them disgraced themselves in the tournament like people expected them to. And none of them finished dead last Australia aside.

-Iran were a whisker away from knocking out Portugal
-South Korea although unimpressive overall provided us the most memorable moment of the world cup so far taking out the World Champions
-Saudi Arabia although disgracing themselves in the opening game , came back and nicked a win against a rather overhyped Egyptian team
- Lastly, Japan qualified to the knockouts when they were expected to finish dead bottom in their highly competitive group  

Terrific performance from Asia given nothing of note was expected of them coming into this tournament. Hope they can build on it and perform better in future tournaments.

go with only 16 from Europe and have a B tournament with the b teams from Europe, South America and rest of world.

When you start to count your points in group play as victory, you gotta wonder what’s the point in competing in tournaments when you only advance on less yellows!

Poland, Serbia, Germany, Iceland uff, We should deduct these 4 spots from Europe and give 3 to CONMEBOL and 1 to ASIA.

Advancing: Europe - 10, South America - 4, Concacaf -1 and Asia - 1. You can safely assume after next round of games, it’s all Europe and South America.

Even if extra spots were taken from Europe and given to other areas, it would still be same results after group play!

Best option is only 16 in World Cup and have a B Level WC, where you can look for better results than points in group play!

Entirely agreed. A mix of elite nations, challengers, and smaller nations that we discover. That's the WORLD cup.

That being said, 32 is the perfect number. And the amount of spots for each continent is fair.
48 teams will be too much, it dilutes the quality of play.
