Feck I pre-ordered it on 21st of August (both SM and FIFA) and our local shop's representatives told me a few days ago that it will come next week. Can't wait tbh. based on the footage showcased on youtube, the game looks insane.

The game looks really, really nice. I understand why it would appeal to many people. I would never get it though. Maybe for free.

Initial thoughts.

In terms of activities in the world if you've played any of the Arkham games you'll know what to expect. Although the game does give you a reason to explore as it helps you unlock stuff.

Combat is way better than I was suspecting, it's very fast with a lot of different ways to approach it and depth should open up more as I unlock more stuff.

Webslinging around the City is every bit as good as it looks, it's not as auto pilot as some have made it look though. I've *bleep* up on quite a few times or maybe I just suck but it's really fun.

Just did the opening mission and those dumbass puzzles.

What are the sex options?

My progression is on like 30% according to the game

I'm not even close to finishing it, i guess that's what happens when you just swing around the city doing nothing at all for most of the time you play it.

I use the Homecoming suit. I don't know why but it's quickly turned into a favourite of mine.

There's a suit that's got animated show looks. So it has some weird ass filter on. Terrible to play with.

Funny thing is i used the main suit ( the white one for the game ) for all of 5 minutes

I like it i just haven't felt compelled to go back to it.

Nah not judging My friend said he'll give me his copy after he platinums. Good to hear it does not take 60 hours to do it.

Yeah it's easy. I got all trophies by just completing all missions and side stuff.

Except the trophy where you have to visit Uncle Ben's grave. That was the last I got.

Out of curiosity Freeza, can you skip any of those mini games in the lab and still get the plat.

Think you’ll have to do all 10 of each. Took me 5 minutes though. They’re pretty easy.

Worst thing is getting challenge tokens to upgrade all suits. I did the mistake of upgrading my gadgets instead of buying suits. It’s easier to get plat if you use most tokens on suits.

Nah what i mean is i kept failing one and it gave me the option to skip and i accepted and now it considers that i completed it even though i actually didn't.

Can i still get the plat despite that?

Ahhh. I’d assume so. My friend pressed skip on something by accident and I still got it.

Finished the whole game in about a day, obviously minus the side content. But in reality it's just the same few missions recycled every few blocks or so. Once I saw thieves rob the exact same store for the fourth time I decided to avoid side content when possible and stick to the main story when possible.

The story was okay, nothing special mind. It started out kinda slow and but the last 5 or so missions were a blast. The side character stealth missions were enjoyable if nothing new. The Spider-man missions were fun at the start but got repetitive due to the combat, which is basically Arkham's combat with almost no modification (the main difference being that you have a web shooter that can incapacitate all enemy types provided their on the floor). Nothing new is really added and the game mainly just adds more enemies as the game goes on. All early missions follow a strict formula where you either fight enemies or do some stealth takedowns from above (influenced by Arkham series as well?).

Stealth gameplay is pretty basic so it loses it's charm after the first few times. The main story gets a bit better at the end when it goes into bigger set pieces instead of repeated content used over and over again, however this makes up only about 15-10% of the story overall so the main campaign could have used a bit more polish.

This game may be worth playing if you really like Spider-man (which I am not particularly a fan of), but as a game it doesn't do anything really well or interestingly. Worth a play when it is on sale IMHO if you have nothing else to play.

The fact you think it's not much different to the Arkham Combat system tells me you didn't explore the depth of it very much.

There's way more going on here than those games which are very simplistic by comparison.
