Seems to me like Vini could use a teenee bit more pace but he's alright. To use Turok's infamous terminology, Vini has the makings of a "modern striker," but it is important he puts emphasis on developing his goal scoring and shot making, could benefit from playing more in the center at times.

Vinicious continues to impress for Castilla. Also seems to get on well with the players. They look like they enjoy playing with him. Time to get mins for the first team

He looks too good to be playing with Castilla. If it's playing-time they're looking at, they should've loaned him to a team playing in top division in Europe, I'm sure many would jump at the chance of having him.

Playing him in Castilla is not the wisest thing to do in my humble opinion.

RM wanted to loan him, Vinicius wanted to stay. He is showing that he is way too good to be playing at the Castilla level. I just hope Lopetegui calls him up for some of the lesser LL games and CDR sooner rather than later.

Bump. i was wrong about loaning him. he is improving fast. being one of the best players on the pitch for 3 games in a row now. he should be a starter from now on imo.

He's great. Still has a lot to learn, his shooting and decision making.

Crazy thing is Rodrygo Goes seems way better and Vinicius.

Way more pace, shoots better, runs with the ball way better.

Take into consideration he is new to both coaches and players in La Liga so they haven't fully prepare for him. But I am honestly surprised how seamless he took to high level matches. Long may it continue.

Vinicius has started to intrigue me, but my question stands as to whether he has the world class acceleration to consistently go past defenders 1 v 1. He scored a top sprint speed "without the ball" of 34 km/h against Leganes, but he hasn't really shown to have the explosiveness that other fast players have to constantly eat up ground.

He has plenty of acceleration and speed. And the best quality of his is that he knows how to use it and when. His issue is decision making and final ball/finishing. I think at this point we just need to enjoy what he is able to provide. We can worry about his development later, because as far as I am concerned he is way ahead of the curve. The mental aspect of his game will come with experience.

He's 18 and will only turn 19 in July. He's doing great. The league will adapt to him at some point... will be interesting to see if they can adapt to him faster than he can progress. That's the real key.

I think he'll be a good one. He brings much needed speed to our attack.

On a sidenote, his top speed in an official match this season was measured to be almost 35 km/h. He's fast.

That's the wrong use of the word "technically" as in actuality or technically speaking, the season ends in May and there are still games to play. Games Vince won't be taking part in as he got overworked to the point of injury.

I don’t agree. Vini is a good passer and he is the best dribbler on the team. So yes you want him to run at players. Without dribblers possession turns stale and defenses do not get broken down. By different, a more complete winger, yes, that'll be nice. Also, no, I do not find he is a good passer of the ball but I figure he'll get there one day.

Also, not exactly forgetting his defensive work, to which, isn't ground breaking as, well, he's not a defender. But then again, I expect the winger to support the fullback whenever we are defending so forgive me if I didn't take that into consideration (I do not).

Again, I specifically mentioned the phrase "knowing when to dribble and when not to" because that is very important skill as a winger to accomplish. Sure, Vini can beat most guys with his pace and dribble but he can also find himself in no man's land if he doesn't think a bit. I have no issues with his style, I like it, every player should be their own man, not sure why you thought I had issues with that.

And to finish, you may be thinking "wtf doc, he's 20" and I would say "and?". Real Madrid isn't a kindergarten, get your shit in a gear quickly (unless you're Asensio to which is another discussion). And you know what, you can see Vini did exactly what I mentioned. He is learning to control his runs, to pass a bit better, to finish a bit better, to think on the field.

I genuinely respect your opinion on things Giggity so please do not think this is an attack on your knowledge, just a different perspective on a player we both like (to some degree).

I was facepalming a few times when he was shooting tamely at the keeper especially that 1v1. But otherwise he had a marvelous game.i hope we never play Nacho with him again. He needs someone like Miguel who likes to attack. It's babysteps with this kid it seems, it went from shooting at the cornerflag to hitting the target with weak shots. Next step is placing the ball out of the keepers reach

He is better this season. but i don't know if we can count on him against top opponent's still. he is sh*t in front of the goal. some lucky deflected goals should not fool us.
