To be fair he's not wrong, wasn't an amazing trailer. Still gonna buy it just because it's CPR though

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
This is a lot different to what i had in mind but it should be good. One thing for sure is that it looks massive.
Hope its nothing like watchdogs/deus ex because it kinda gives that impression.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith's classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.
This implies to me that you create your own character like Mass Effect and it's not a set character like Geralt in Witcher.

That's actually a really good idea. Would be a reference to both The Witcher and Knight Rider.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I think it'll be hard to top TW3 for me as I just prefer that medieval fantasy setting more but I'm really hoping the quests are as strong in this, need another epic long RPG, I hope combat mechanics etc don't take precedence here, I imagine it'll have a lot more depth there than TW3

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
a PR guy from CDPR responded to some people talking about no gameplay.
"E3 has barely even started and we can hardly show our game with 2 minutes on the stage"
If we see gameplay i might enter a coma.

reddit wrote:"It’s been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and… went dark. Normal Procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.
As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine, we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077’s pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision to rescue talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realise you’ve been (im)patiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn’t like anyone to feel that we’re taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so that the sweat and tears need to be real, too .
But, to the point. Today is the day. If you’re seeing this, it means you saw the trailer - our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, mega-corporations control all aspects of civilised life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don’t let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You’ll be able to create your own character and… well, you’ll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for the previews!
Before we finish, you probably have some questions, right?
1. When?
When we told you we would only release the game when it’s ready, we meant it. We’re definitely much, much closer to a release date than we were back then , but it’s still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us - it’s the beauty of being an independent study and your own publisher.
2. How big?
Seriously big, but… to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we’ll do this before we start talking about any pre-orders or ask anything of you.
3. Free DLC/Expansions/DRM?
Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, DP2077 will be 100% DRM free on PC.
4. Microtransactions?
In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?
Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a miniute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.
Yours,
CD PROJEKT RED Team"

On one hand I want to have it now but on the other hand I'm glad they're taking their time with it because you know it'll be amazing and high quality. I don't think I've ever anticipated a single game like that ffs.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Not even one percent excited about this.
The setting is not nearly as popular as Witcher for a start and the trailer didn't help raising anticipation.
Don't forget CDPR had a tonne of material to work with in Witcher series, all the novels written that stood the test of time for decades. This game is based on tabletop game which isn't even a popular one. CDPR have a lot more work to do with this one.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
That would actually make sense if they straight up copied the novels.
It took place after novels finished with unique storytelling and many characters unique to the game, without even mentioning the level of skill it takes to bring that world to life.
That really under sells what they did with the Witcher games.
Also Witcher was not popular at all before the games, nobody had a clue what it was outside of Poland seen by the fact that most of the English translations didn't exist before Witcher 2 and 3.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Don't usually bother with breakdowns but this is very good if anyone is interested, specifically as he seems to have a lot of experience with the Pen and Paper RPG the game is based on.
Gives a lot of insight to what is really going on, even if this is taking place over 50 years after the Pen and Paper game does.
